Lolita Pop
Lolita Pop was a Swedish rock band from Örebro that was active from 1979 to 1992. They scored successes on the Swedish album chart during the 1980s and early 1990s. The band's core consisted of singer Karin Wistrand and guitarists Sten Booberg and Benkt Svensson (later Benkt Söderberg). Together, they wrote most of the music. Percussionist and saxophonist Per Eriksson is among the longest-serving members. Lolita Pop scored eight studio albums and about 800 performances in Sweden, Europe and the United States. Some of their popular songs were Tarzan on a Big Red Scooter, Hey Winner, Mind Your Eye, and Bang Your Head. Career Early years Lolita Pop formed at the premiere of Rockmagasinet, a club, in Örebro, Sweden on 26 May 1979. ''Field of Fire'' is the second solo album by former Television guitarist Richard Lloyd. It was released in 1985, six years after his solo debut, ''Alchemy''. MeteorCity Records is an American record label founded in 1997 by Jadd Shickler and Aaron Emmel in Albuquerque, New Mexico. With the release of its compilation album ''Welcome to MeteorCity'' showcasing young unsigned Kyuss-like bands, MeteorCity helped launch the stoner rock genre and many of the genre's first bands, plus side projects from members of well-known bands including The Atomic Bitchwax and Hermano. First Aid Kit is a Swedish folk duo consisting of the sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg, born in 1990 and 1993, respectively. When performing live, they are accompanied by a drummer, a guitarist and a keyboard player. In 2008, they gained some Internet popularity for their cover of the Fleet Foxes' song "Tiger Mountain Peasant Song". Colin James Nutley (born 28 February 1944) is an English director successful in the Swedish film industry. Career Nutley went to Portsmouth Art College and began his career in British television as a graphic designer. He then turned to drama and documentary film-making for ITV, BBC and Channel 4. Richard Lloyd (guitarist)
Richard Lloyd (born October 25, 1951) is an American guitarist and songwriter, best known as a founding member of the rock band Television. Early life Lloyd first became interested in music as a small child. He saw The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show and experienced the phenomenon of Beatlemania, later going on to follow the British Invasion back to its roots in Blues and Jazz. Lloyd attended Stuyvesant High School in New York City. In his early teens, he studied drums with William Kessler, who was the ghostwriter for Cozy Cole, one of the famous big-band drummers.
