Lokve, Croatia
Lokve ( it, Loque) is a Croatian municipality of Primorje–Gorski Kotar County. With an area of 42 km2, it has a population of 1,049. The municipality is located in the mountainous region of Gorski kotar. The Lokvarsko Lake () is located between the settlements of Homer and Mrzla Vodica. Lake Lokve
Lake Lokve or Lokvarsko Lake ( hr, Lokvarsko jezero ) is an artificial lake in northwestern Croatia. It was created by damming the Lokve River in the 1950s. Location Lake Lokve is located in the mountainous Gorski Kotar region, about 30km east of the city Rijeka. The lake is bordered by the villages of Homer, Mrzla Vodica, and Zelin Mrzlovodički in the Lokve, Croatia, Lokve municipality. The mountains of Risnjak National Park begin just north of the lake. The Underwater Orienteering World Championships is the peak international event for the underwater sports, underwater sport of underwater orienteering. The event is conducted on behalf of the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (CMAS) by an affiliated national federation. The championships was first held in 1973.
