Districts Of Burma
Districts ( my, ခရိုင်, Kharuing; ) are the second-level administrative divisions of Myanmar. They are the sub-divisions of the States and Regions of Myanmar. According to the Myanmar Information Management Unit (MIMU), as of December 2015, there are 76 districts in Myanmar, which in turn are subdivided into townships, then towns, wards and villages. The District's role is more supervisory as the Townships are the basic administrative unit of local governance. A District is led by a District Administrator, a civil servant appointed through the General Administration Department (GAD) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA). Mong Pan Township
Mong Pan Township (Möng Pan or Möng Pawn) is a township of Langkho District in the Shan State of Myanmar. The capital town is Mong Pan or Möngpan, formerly the residence of the Sawbwa. To the south it borders Mae Hong Son Province in Thailand and lies west of the Salween River. History Originally, Mong Pan was one of the many smaller states that made up the Shan region of Myanmar, but later it became part of Shan State. Mong Hsu Township is a township of Loilen District in the Shan State of Myanmar. The principal town is Mong Hsu. Om-pu waterfall on Nam Parng River of Mong Hsu is the second largest waterfall of Shan State. The nearest commercial airport to Mong Hsu is Lashio Airport. History Mong Hsu is the home of the famous Mong Hsu ruby mines. The large scale production started in 1991. Before gems were found, it is a small remote town with 1-2 convoys for each month.
