Elfriede Lohse-Wächtler
Elfriede Lohse-Wächtler (born ''Anna Frieda Wächtler''; 4 December 1899 – 31 July 1940) was a German painter of the avant-garde whose works were banned as " degenerate art", and in some cases destroyed, in Nazi Germany. She became mentally ill and was murdered in a former psychiatric institution at Sonnenstein castle in Pirna under Action T4, a forced euthanasia program of Nazi Germany. Since 2000, a memorial center for the T4 program in the house commemorates her life and work in a permanent exhibition. Life Elfriede Lohse-Wächtler grew up in a middle-class family, but left at the age of 16 to study at the Royal Arts School Dresden from 1915 to 1918 (fashion, then applied graphics). Selma Lohse
Selma Lohse (; 17 February 1883 – 4 May 1937) was a German politician who served in the Reichstag of the Weimar Republic from 1931 until 1932. A member of the Social Democratic Party, she represented the Franconia constituency. Lohse was also a member of the Lower Franconia district council and the Würzburg city council, serving as one of four women in the latter body. Biography Born in Dresden, Saxony, Lohse studied with Hans Richter (conductor), Hans Richter and Felix Draeseke at the Dresden Conservatory. In 1882, he became conductor of two music societies in Riga, the Wagner Society and the Imperial Russian Music Society. Seven years later, he became the first ''kapellmeister'' of the city's Latvian National Opera, Stadttheater. In September 1893, he became second ''Kapellmeister'' at the Hamburg Stadttheater (director and first ''Kapellmeister'' was Gustav Mahler). Kyle Matthew Lohse (; born October 4, 1978) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins, Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Milwaukee Brewers, and Texas Rangers. As of 2014, he was one of only three active non-Hispanic Native American players in MLB, with the others being Joba Chamberlain of the Cleveland Indians and Jacoby Ellsbury of the New York Yankees.
