Logotype (horse)
Logotype (Japanese: ロゴタイプ, foaled 10 March 2010) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. As a juvenile in 2012 he won two minor races in his first four starts before recording an upset victory in the Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes, which resulted in his taking the JRA Award for Best Two-Year-Old Colt. In the following spring he maintained his winning form by taking the Spring Stakes and then winning the Satsuki Sho in record time. He failed to win for over three years before taking the Yasuda Kinen as a six-year-old in 2016. Background Logotype is a dark bay horse standing 168 cm tall with no white markings bred in Japan by his owner, Teruya Yoshida's Shadai Farm. During his racing career he was trained by Tsuyoshi Tanaka. He was the most successful racehorse sired by Lohengrin, a top-class Japanese miler who won the Yomiuri Milers Cup and the Nakayama Kinen and was placed in the Prix du Moulin, Takarazuka Kinen and Yasuda Kinen. Lohengrin (horse)
Lohengrin () is a character in Germany, German Arthurian literature. The son of Percival, Parzival (Percival), he is a knight of the Holy Grail sent in a boat pulled by swans to rescue a maiden who can never ask his identity. His story, which first appears in Wolfram von Eschenbach's ''Parzival'', is a version of the Knight of the Swan legend known from a variety of medieval sources. Wolfram's story was expanded in two later romances. Richard Wagner's opera ''Lohengrin (opera), Lohengrin'' of 1848 is based upon the legend. Origin Lohengrin first appears as "Loherangrin", the son of Parzival and Condwiramurs in Wolfram von Eschenbach's ''Parzival''. Takarazuka Kinen
The Takarazuka Kinen (宝塚記念) is a Conditions races, Grade I Flat racing, flat Horse racing, horse race in Japan for three-year-old and above thoroughbreds where they run over a distance of 2,200 metres (approximately miles) at Hanshin Racecourse (阪神競馬場) in late June. It is one of the two "All-Star" races in Japanese horse racing; the other is the Arima Kinen (the Grand Prix) in late December. It was first run in 1960 with a distance of 1,800 metres. From 1961 to 1965 the race was run over 2,000 metres and since 1966 it has been run over its present distance. The race is run on the turf and is named after the city of Takarazuka, Hyōgo, Takarazuka, Hyōgo Prefecture, Hyōgo, the location of Hanshin Racecourse, which is the venue of the race. Lovely Day (horse)
Lovely Day ( ja, ラブリーデイ, link=no, foaled 30 January 2010) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. After winning his first two races as a two-year-old, the horse recorded only one in from fifteen starts over the next two years. In 2015 however, he showed marked improvement to become one of the best horses in Japan, winning six races including the Takarazuka Kinen and the autumn edition of the Tenno Sho. He was voted Best Older Male Horse in the JRA Awards for 2015. Background Lovely Day is a dark bay or brown horse with a white star bred in Japan by his owner Makoto Kaneko. Keio Hai Nisai Stakes
The Keio Hai Nisai Stakes (Japanese 京王杯2歳ステークス) is a Japanese Grade 2 flat horse race in Japan for two-year-old Thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 1400 metres at Tokyo Racecourse in November. The Keio Hai Nisai Stakes was first run in 1965 and was elevated to Grade 2 status in 1984. Odds provide a measure of the likelihood of a particular outcome. They are calculated as the ratio of the number of events that produce that outcome to the number that do not. Odds are commonly used in gambling and statistics. is located in Fuchu, Tokyo, Japan. Built in 1933 for horse racing, it is considered the "racecourse of racecourses" in Japanese horseracing. It has a capacity of 223,000, with seating for 13,750. A graded stakes race is a thoroughbred horse race in the United States that meets the criteria of the American Graded Stakes Committee of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA). A specific grade level (I, II, III or listed) is then assigned to the race, based on statistical analysis of the quality of the field in previous years, provided the race meets the minimum purse criteria for the grade in question. In Canada, a similar grading system is maintained by the Jockey Club of Canada. Graded stakes races are similar to Group races in Europe but the grading is more dynamic in North America.
