Logatec (; german: Loitsch, it, Longatico) is a town in Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Logatec. It is located roughly in the centre of Inner Carniola, between the capital Ljubljana and Postojna. The town of Logatec has seen rapid industrial development and immigration since the completion of the nearby A1 motorway to the coast. Name The name ''Logatec'' is of Celtic origin, probably derived from Celtic ''*longatis'' 'ferryman, boatman', from the Proto-Celtic word ''*longā'' 'ship', thus meaning 'ferrymen's settlement'. Gorenji Logatec
Gorenji Logatec (, locally also ''Gornji Logatec'', formerly ''Cerkovska vas''; german: Oberloitsch, formerly ''Kirchdorf'') is a former village in western Slovenia in the Municipality of Logatec. Čevica
Čevica (, in older sources ''Čevice'', german: Tscheuze) is a former village in western Slovenia in the Municipality of Logatec. It is now part of the town of Logatec. Brod–Logatec () is a former village in western Slovenia in the Municipality of Logatec. It is now part of the town of Logatec. A1 Motorway (Slovenia)
The A1 motorway ( sl, avtocesta A1), also known as Slovenika, is long, connecting Šentilj (at the Austrian border) and Koper/Capodistria (on the shores of the Adriatic Sea). It connects several of the largest metropolitan areas of the country, including Maribor, Celje and Ljubljana, all the way to the Slovenian Littoral and port town of Koper. Construction began in 1970 and the first section was finished in 1972, connecting Vrhnika and Postojna. Everyday operation of this initial stretch started on 29 December 1972.
