Lodge Morres
Lodge Evans de Montmorency, 1st Viscount Frankfort de Montmorency PC (26 January 1747 – 21 September 1822), known as Lodge Morres until 1800 and as The Lord Frankfort between 1800 and 1816, was an Irish politician. Background Born Lodge Morres, he was the son of Redmond Morres and Elizabeth, daughter of Francis Lodge. Hervey Morres, 1st Viscount Mountmorres and Sir William Morres, 1st Baronet, were his uncles. Political career Morres was elected a member of the Irish House of Commons for Inistioge in 1768, a seat he held until 1770, and later represented Bandon Bridge between 1776 and 1796, Ennis between 1796 and 1797, and Dingle between 1798 and 1800. He was sworn of the Irish Privy Council in 1796 and served as a Lord of the Treasury between 1796 and 1806. In 1800 he was raised to the Peerage of Ireland as Baron Frankfort, of Galmoye in the County of Kilkenny. Edward Tighe
Edward Tighe (1740-1801) was an Irish lawyer, writer and politician, who represented a number of constituencies in the Irish House of Commons. The son of William Tighe, MP for Wexford then for Wicklow, and Mary Bligh (daughter of John Bligh, 1st Earl of Darnley), he was educated at Eton College, and St. John's College, Cambridge, and called to the English bar in 1759 and the Irish bar in 1776. Political career Tighe was first elected to the Irish parliament for Belturbet, Co. Cavan, in 1763, elected for Wicklow Burrough (succeeding his brother Richard William Tighe) in 1768, then Athboy Co. Meath, from 1776 (succeeding his elder brother William Tighe) until 1773 when he represented Wicklow Borough again until 1797. John Townsend (Irish Politician)
John Townsend (1737 – 4 August 1810) was an Irish politician. He was the third son of Richard Townsend, son of Bryan Townsend, and his second wife Elizabeth Beecher, daughter of Henry Beecher and granddaughter of Thomas Beecher. In 1783, Townsend entered the Irish House of Commons for Dingle, the same constituency his brother Richard Townsend had also represented, and sat for it until 1797. Nathaniel Sneyd
Nathaniel Sneyd (c. 1767 – 31 July 1833) was an Irish politician, landowner and businessman He was a Member of the Parliament of Ireland representing the Carrick constituency from 1794 to 1800 and was High Sheriff of Cavan in 1795. He briefly represented the Cavan County Parliament of Ireland constituency which was succeeded after the Union with Great Britain in 1800 by the Cavan Westminster constituency, which he represented from 1801 until 1826. In general election of 1806 he contested two constituencies for Parliament, winning both and choosing to represent Cavan over Enniskillen. In Cavan, Sneyd lived in Ballyconnell and owned plantation lands around Bawnboy. From 1800, he was president of the Bawnboy Farming Society, the first founded in County Cavan. Sir Edward O'Brien, 4th Baronet
Sir Edward O'Brien, 4th Baronet (17 April 1773 – 13 March 1837) was an Irish parliamentarian who sat in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom from 1802 to 1826. He was the son of Sir Lucius O'Brien, 3rd Baronet (1731–1795) and Anne French. On his father's death (possibly as the result of a duel), he inherited Sir Lucius' baronetcy and his seat in the Parliament of Ireland, representing Ennis from 1795 until the Union with Great Britain in 1801. At the 1802 general election, O'Brien was elected as one of the two Members of Parliament (MPs) for Clare. He was re-elected 5 times, holding the seat until the 1826 general election, which he did not contest. He died on 13 March 1837 at age 63. He had married Charlotte Smith, daughter of William Smith, on 12 November 1799. William Conyngham
William Burton Conyngham (1733 – 31 May 1796) was an Irish politician and improver. Life He was born William Burton, the second son of Francis Burton and Mary Conyngham, sister of Henry Conyngham, 1st Earl Conyngham. In 1781, his name was changed by Royal Licence to inherit the estates of his uncle. Conyngham was a longtime Member of Parliament. From 1761 to 1777 he represented Newtown Limavady, from 1776 to 1777 as well as from 1783 to 1790 Killybegs. Between 1776 and 1783 and again between 1790 and 1796, he sat in the Irish House of Commons for Ennis. Conyngham planned a settlement on the previously unpopulated island of Rutland, Ireland, having installed, from 1784, a street of residences and business premises, post office, school house and a fish landing and processing facility. Major-General Hon. Sir William Ponsonby (13 October 177218 June 1815) was an Anglo-Irish politician and British Army officer who served in the Peninsular War and was killed at the Battle of Waterloo. Francis Bernard, 1st Earl of Bandon (26 November 1755 – 26 November 1830) was an Irish peer and politician. He was the only son of James Bernard and his wife Esther Smith, daughter of Percy Smith. Between 1778 and 1783, Bernard sat as Member of Parliament (MP) for Ennis. Subsequently, he represented Bandonbridge in the Irish House of Commons until 1790. In 1793, Bernard was raised to the peerage with the title Baron Bandon, of Bandonbridge, in the County of Cork, and in 1795, he was further ennobled as Viscount Bandon, of Bandonbridge, in the County of Cork. On 29 August 1800, he was finally advanced to the dignities of Earl of Bandon and Viscount Bernard. William Brabazon Ponsonby, 1st Baron Ponsonby (of Imokilly), PC (Ire) (15 September 17445 November 1806) was a leading Irish Whig politician, being a member of the Irish House of Commons, and, after 1800, of the United Kingdom parliament. Ponsonby was the son of the Hon. John Ponsonby, the Speaker of the Irish House of Commons and Lady Elizabeth Cavendish, daughter of the 3rd Duke of Devonshire.
