LocusPoint Networks
LocusPoint Networks LLC was an owner of television stations in the United States. The company is 99% owned by The Blackstone Group. After selling off most of their in 2017 and 2018 in the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) spectrum auction and to other broadcasters, they owned one remaining station, WLEP-LD in Erie, Pennsylvania, whose license they turned in to the FCC effective February 12, 2019. One of the company's acquisitions, WMGM-TV, was rumored to have been purchased only to be sold in a spectrum auction in 2015. When the FCC auction finally occurred LocusPoint failed to successfully win a bid to sell the station's spectrum to the FCC. On June 26, 2017, LocusPoint Networks agreed to sell WMGM-TV to Univision Communications, through its Univision Local Media subsidiary, for $6 million. WLPD-CD (channel 30) is a low-power, Class A religious television station licensed to Plano, Illinois, United States. Owned by the Trinity Broadcasting Network, the station carries its digital multicast channel TBN Inspire, along with a high-definition simulcast of Smile on its second subchannel. WLPD-CD is sister to Naperville-licensed TBN station WWTO-TV (channel 35); through a channel sharing agreement, the two stations transmit using WLPD-CD's spectrum from an antenna atop the John Hancock Center. WRCF-CD (channel 29) is a low-power, Class A television station in Orlando, Florida, United States, broadcasting the Spanish-language UniMás network. It is owned and operated by TelevisaUnivision alongside Melbourne-licensed Univision outlet WVEN-TV (channel 43). Both stations share studios on Douglas Avenue in Altamonte Springs, while WRCF-CD's transmitter is located in unincorporated Bithlo, Florida. Even though WRCF-CD operates a digital signal of its own, the low-power broadcasting radius only covers the immediate Orlando area. KCNZ-CD, virtual channel 28 ( UHF digital channel 21), is a low-powered, Class A LATV- affiliated television station licensed to San Francisco, California, United States and serving the San Francisco Bay Area. In most telecommunications organizations, a virtual channel is a method of remapping the ''program number'' as used in H.222 Program Association Tables and Program Mapping Tables to a channel number that can be entered via digits on a receiver's remote control. Often, "virtual channels" are implemented in digital television, helping users to find a desired channel easily, or easing the transition from analogue to digital broadcasting in general. The practice of assigning virtual channels is most common in those parts of the world where TV stations were colloquially named after the RF channel they were transmitting on ("Channel 6 Springfield"), as it was common in North America during the analogue TV era.
