William Westwood Lockyer (born May 8, 1941) is a retired American politician from California, who held elective office from 1973 to 2015, as State Treasurer of California, California Attorney General, and President Pro Tempore of the California State Senate. Early life and education Lockyer attended the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with a B.A. in Political Science in 1965. Sir Nicholas Colston Lockyer ISO (6 October 1855 – 26 August 1933) was a senior Australian public servant, best known for his time as head of the Department of Trade and Customs. Life and career Lockyer was born in Woolloomooloo, Sydney on 6 October 1855. His first marriage was to Mary Juliet, daughter of Geoffrey Eagar, from 1885 to her death in 1898. Tom Lockyer
Thomas Alun Lockyer (born 3 December 1994) is a Welsh professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Luton Town and the Wales national team. Club career Bristol Rovers Lockyer was born and raised in Cardiff. He joined Cardiff City as a youth aged 11, but was released aged 16, as Cardiff deemed him to be too small to play his preferred position of centre-back. Lockyer then signed a scholarship for Bristol Rovers in 2011 and went on to make his debut on 12 January 2013, replacing Ellis Harrison, 85 minutes into a 3–0 win over Fleetwood Town at Highbury Stadium. Tom Lockyer (cricketer)
Thomas Lockyer (1 November 1826 in Croydon, Surrey – 22 December 1869 in Croydon) was a famous English cricketer during the game's roundarm era. He was one of the outstanding wicket-keepers of the 19th century. Tom Lockyer was a right-handed batsman. As well as keeping wicket, he also bowled right-arm fast-medium, roundarm, particularly in his final years with Surrey. His first-class career extended from the 1849 English cricket season to the 1866 season. He took 301 catches in 223 matches and made 123 stumpings. As a bowler he took 119 wickets at an average of 19.73 with a best analysis of 6/33. He took five wickets in an innings 10 times, and 10 wickets in a match once. He scored 4917 runs at an average of 15.86 with a highest score of 108 not out, which was his only century, against Nottinghamshire in 1864, when he also took 6 for 44 in the second innings after keeping wicket in the first. Tarkyn Lockyer
Tarkyn Lockyer (born 30 October 1979) is a former professional Australian rules football player who played for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Upon his retirement at the end of the 2010 season, he served as the head coach of the Collingwood VFL Football Club. He then served as the midfield development coach at Collingwood. As of 2021, he served as the AFL national talent head coach as well as being a member of the 2021 Women's Under-19 All-Australian team selection committee. Robert Lockyer
Robert Lockyer (sometimes spelled Lockier) (1625 – 27 April 1649) was an English soldier in Oliver Cromwell's New Model Army. A Leveller, he was the only soldier executed for his involvement in the Bishopsgate mutiny. Lockyer has been identified with the son of Mary Lockyer, a resident of St. Botulph Bishopsgate who, with her son, was known to have been a Strict Baptist by 1642. In the same year, Lockyer certainly joined the Parliamentary Army. He served in the regiment of Edward Whalley during the turmoil at the end of the decade; by this time he was already deeply committed to Leveller ideas. When some of the troops under Captain John Savage were removed to Essex (apparently in order to remove them from Leveller agitation in central London), Lockyer helped incite a brief mutiny. Philip Harry Lockyer (born 28 September 1946) is a former Australian politician. He was born at Mount Magnet to pastoral property manager Thomas Catchlove Lockyer and Florence Lillian Elsdon. Paul Lockyer
Paul James Lockyer (27 April 1950 – 18 August 2011) was an Australian television journalist for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and the Nine Network who was known for his reporting on rural and regional Australia. Lockyer and two colleagues died in a helicopter accident while on assignment filming a story about Lake Eyre, South Australia. Norman Lockyer
Sir Joseph Norman Lockyer (17 May 1836 – 16 August 1920) was an English scientist and astronomer. Along with the French scientist Pierre Janssen, he is credited with discovering the gas helium. Lockyer also is remembered for being the founder and first editor of the influential journal ''Nature''. Biography Lockyer was born in Rugby, Warwickshire. His early introduction to science was through his father, who was a pioneer of the electric telegraph. After a conventional schooling supplemented by travel in Switzerland and France, he worked for some years as a civil servant in the British War Office. Nigel Stuart Lockyer (born 5 November 1952) is a British-American experimental particle physicist. He was the Director of the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), in Batavia, Illinois, the leading particle physics laboratory in the United States, from September 2013 to April 2022.
