Lochgelly Albert Football Club is a Scottish football (soccer), football club based in Lochgelly, Fife. Their home ground is Purvis Park and they currently compete in the . Club colours are black and amber. Founded in 1926 as an amateur side, the club stepped up to the Scottish Junior Football Association, Junior grade in 1933. In May 2020, the club confirmed they had successfully applied to join the East of Scotland Football League within the Scottish football league system, senior pyramid. Lochgelly
Lochgelly ( ; gd, Loch Gheallaidh, IPA: ɫ̪ɔxˈʝaɫ̪ai is a town in Fife, Scotland. It is located between Lochs Ore and Gelly to the north-west and south-east respectively. It is separated from Cowdenbeath by the village of Lumphinnans. According to the 2007 population estimate, the town has a population of 6,834. History From the 1830s until the 1960s Lochgelly was a mining town. With the industry now dead the town has slipped into economic and social deprivation as with other former mining towns. Lochgelly is now classed as a town in need of both social and economical regeneration and has the cheapest average home price in Britain. Lochgelly, as part of the old parliamentary constituency of West Fife, was known as " Little Moscow" up to the 1950s owing to its Communist political leanings. Raith Rovers Football Club is a Scottish professional football club based in the town of Kirkcaldy, Fife. The club was founded in 1883 and currently competes in the Scottish Championship as a member of the Scottish Professional Football League. The club has won four national trophies, the 1994 Scottish League Cup, and the 2013–14, 2019–20 and 2021–22 editions of the Scottish Challenge Cup, and were runners-up in the 1949 Scottish League Cup and 1913 Scottish Cup. The Fife Junior Football League was a football league competition under the jurisdiction of the Scottish Junior Football Association, which operated as the top league in Fife until a merger in 2002; it existed for a further four years as a second-tier league before the name was discontinued in 2006. History The league was formed in 1913 from a merger between smaller competitions across the county, initially the ''Howe of Fife League'' (played between 1892 and 1913) and the ''West Fife County League'' (1893 to 1913), later joined by teams from the ''East Neuk League'' (1908 to 1924). Borrowstounness (commonly known as Bo'ness ( )) is a town and former burgh and seaport on the south bank of the Firth of Forth in the Central Lowlands of Scotland. Historically part of the county of West Lothian, it is a place within the Falkirk council area, northwest of Edinburgh and east of Falkirk. At the 2011 United Kingdom census, the population of the Bo'ness locality was 15,100. Until the 20th century, Bo'ness was the site of various industrial activities, including coal mining, saltmaking and pottery production. With its location beside the Forth, the town and its harbour grew in importance in the industrial revolution and later continued to grow into the Victorian era. Scottish Junior Football Association, East Region
The Scottish Junior Football Association, East Region is one of two regions of the SJFA, which currently organises the Midlands Football League, Midlands League and local cup competitions. The SJFA was previously split into six regions, but in 2002 the decision was taken to reform into three to try to ensure more games between the top clubs and hence increase their revenues; at that time the East Region was created by amalgamating the former East Junior Football League, East (Lothians), Fife Junior Football League, Fife and Tayside Junior Football League, Tayside Regions. The Scottish Junior Football East Region Central Division was a third-tier division of the East Region of the Scottish Junior Football Association. The league came into existence under the 'Central' name for the 2006–07 season, although a 'Fife District league' had been in place below the East Super League since 2002–03, using the structure of a common 'East Region' top tier and lower regional divisions in place of the old structure of three separate regional leagues in that part of Scotland, with the Fife Junior Football League the historic local competition.
