''Location Africa'' is a 1987 documentary film by Swiss filmmaker Steff Gruber. Overview Cinematographer Rainer Klausmann introduced Steff Gruber to the German film director Werner Herzog in 1985, during the shoot of Gruber's film '' Fetish & Dreams''. In 1987, Herzog invited Gruber to Ghana to document the filming of Herzog's ''Cobra Verde'', which would be the last cooperative project of Herzog and actor Klaus Kinski. Steff Gruber
Steff Gruber (born 3 April 1953 in Zurich, Switzerland) is a film director, photographer, author, entrepreneur and telecommunications and internet pioneer. Life Steff Gruber is the son of the painter Hannes Gruber and Annemarie Gruber-Vogelsanger. He grew up in Oberrieden on Lake Zurich. In childhood his greatest ambition was to be a pilot and inventor. He constructed his first radio receiver at the age of eight; when he was fifteen, during the first manned space flight to the moon, he succeeded in listening in on the dialogue between the astronauts and ground control. He started to train as an electronics engineer, but abandoned the course before completing it after deciding that he wanted to become a film director. Up to the present day Steff Gruber has not settled on a choice of career. Instead he combines different professional identities, as an artist, technician and entrepreneur. Alpinale Short Film Festival
The Alpinale Short Film Festival (German: ''Alpinale Kurzfilmfestival'') is a film festival in Bludenz, Vorarlberg (Austria). The short film festival draws around 1,000 visitors to Bludenz. Every year, about 30 hand-picked international short films are screened. The best films are awarded the ''Golden Unicorn''. From 1985 to 2002, the festival took place in Bludenz, and from 2003 to 2019 in Nenzing. In 2020, the festival will be held in Bludenz again. The 35th Alpinale took place between 11th and 15th August 2020 under strict regulations to prevent infections with Covid-19. The film language of all short films at the Alpinale is played in the original sound. Bludenz (; Alemannic: ''Bludaz'') is a town in the westernmost Austrian state of Vorarlberg.
