Loaird McCreary
Loaird Arthur McCreary (born March 15, 1953) is a former American football tight end who played four seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the second round of the 1976 NFL Draft. He played college football at Tennessee State University and attended Walter F. George High School in Atlanta, Georgia. McCreary was also a member of the Oklahoma Outlaws of the United States Football League The United States Football League (USFL) was a professional American football league that played for three seasons, 1983 through 1985. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic.
