Lo Nuestro Award For Album Of The Year
The Lo Nuestro Award for Album of the Year is an honor presented annually since 2016 by the American television network Univision at the Lo Nuestro Awards. The award was established to recognize the quality of recorded vocal or instrumental albums of Latin music. Nominees and winners are selected based on performance on the ''Billboard'' Latin music charts and social media polls, winners are selected via online voting. The trophy awarded is in the shape of a treble clef. Throughout its history, the Lo Nuestro Awards originally always awarded albums by musical genre, but without any general category. The Album of the Year category was first added in 2016 and has been awarded to date with the exception of 2018 and 2019. The 30th ceremony was held in 2018, and a special program was made instead of voteable categories, while in 2019 it was decided to omit all album categories. The 29th Lo Nuestro Awards ceremony, presented by the American network Univision, honoring the best Latin music of 2016 in the United States, took place on February 23, 2017, at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida beginning at 5:00 p.m. PST (8:00 p.m. EST). Christian Jesus González Nodal (born January 11, 1999) is a Mexican musician, singer, and songwriter born and raised in Sonora, Mexico. His debut studio album, '' Me Dejé Llevar'' (2017), was met with critical acclaim and success. Nodal has won three Latin Grammy Awards, a Lo Nuestro Award, two ''Billboard'' Latin Music Awards, and a Latin American Music Award. ''Ahora'' () is the second studio album released by Mexican singer-songwriter Christian Nodal. It was released on May 10, 2019 via Fonovisa Records and Universal Music Latin. José Álvaro Osorio Balvín (born 7 May 1985), known professionally as J Balvin, is a Colombian singer and songwriter. Los Plebes del Rancho (in English, "The guys from the ranch"), are a Regional Mexican band, specializing in the Sierreño-Banda style. The group was founded in 2013 as Ariel Camacho y Los Plebes del Rancho, by Ariel Camacho and his friend César Sánchez and were originally signed to JG Entertainment. They signed with DEL Records in 2014, but then left in 2016 due to disputes with the owner. The death of Ariel Camacho caused changes to the group.
