Lize Kop
Lize Kop (born 17 March 1998) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Women's Super League club Leicester City and the Netherlands national team, having previously played for Eredivisie club Ajax. Career Kop was selected for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. She made her international debut in 2019 against Poland in the Algarve Cup. On 31 May 2023, she was named as part of the Netherlands provisional squad for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. On 16 August 2023, Kop signed for Women's Super League club Leicester City on a three year deal. Netherlands Women's National Football Team
The Netherlands women's national football team ( nl, Nederlands vrouwenvoetbalelftal) is directed by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB), which is a member of UEFA and FIFA. In 1971, the team played the first women's international football match recognized by FIFA against France. They played at the final tournament of the UEFA Women's Championship three times and were champions in 2017 as hosts. They qualified for the World Cup twice, reaching the final of the 2019 edition of the World Cup, losing 2–0 against the United States. The result of the 2019 World Cup meant that the Netherlands team qualified for 2020 Olympics where they lost in the quarter-finals. The Netherlands was one of a number of European countries where women's football was banned for a long time, and received scepticism afterwards. The 2017–18 Eredivisie Vrouwen was the eight season of the Netherlands women's professional football league. The season took place from 1 September 2017 to 25 May 2018 with nine teams.
