Liza Lopez-Rosario
Maria Liza A. Lopez-Rosario (born October 15, 1963) is a Filipino lawyer, professor, author, and educational administrator. She is also an expert on the canon law of the Catholic church. Education Lopez-Rosario is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas for her degrees of Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy ''magna cum laude'' in 1984 and her Bachelor of Laws ''magna cum laude'' in 1988. She attained her Doctor of Civil Law ''cum laude'' degree in 1997 from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain, where she also worked as an au pair. She also earned her Bachelor in Canon Law in 2013 from the UST Faculty of Canon Law. Career Lopez-Rosario started her legal career as a public attorney. She started teaching at UST Law since 1989. She is a senior associate at Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc & De Los Angeles. The University of Santo Tomas (also known as UST and officially as the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas, Manila) is a private, Catholic research university in Manila, Philippines. Founded on April 28, 1611, by Spanish friar Miguel de Benavides, third Archbishop of Manila, it has the oldest extant university charter in the Philippines and in Asia, and is one of the world's largest Catholic universities in terms of enrollment found on one campus. An academy (Attic Greek: Ἀκαδήμεια; Koine Greek Ἀκαδημία) is an institution of secondary or tertiary higher learning (and generally also research or honorary membership). The name traces back to Plato's school of philosophy, founded approximately 385 BC at Akademia, a sanctuary of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and skill, north of Athens, Greece. Etymology The word comes from the ''Academy'' in ancient Greece, which derives from the Athenian hero, ''Akademos''. Outside the city walls of Athens, the gymnasium was made famous by Plato as a center of learning.
