Liz Dixon
Elizabeth "Liz" Dixon (born September 29, 2000) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She previously also played for the Connecticut Sun. She played college basketball at Louisville and Georgia Tech. College career Dixon came out of high school as the 19th overall ranked player according to ESPN HoopGurlz's rankings. She was named to the McDonald's All-American Game in 2018. Dixon committed to play for Georgia Tech in March 2017. Georgia Tech During her freshman season at Tech, Dixon started every game for the Yellow Jackets and was the third leading scorer on the team at 11.0 points per game. She was the named the Freshman of the Week three times during her tenure at Georgia Tech - November 19, January 14, and February 11th. Women's National Basketball Association
The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is an American professional basketball league. It is composed of twelve teams, all based in the United States. The league was founded on April 22, 1996, as the women's counterpart to the National Basketball Association (NBA), and league play started in 1997. The regular season is played from May to September, with the All Star game being played midway through the season in July (except in Olympic years) and the WNBA Finals at the end of September until the beginning of October. 2023 Phoenix Mercury Season
The 2023 Phoenix Mercury season was the 26th season for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association, and the second season under head coach Vanessa Nygaard. In October 2022, Skylar Diggins-Smith announced on Instagram that she was pregnant with her second child. On December 8, 2022, Brittney Griner was successfully returned to the United States of America after the Brittney Griner–Viktor Bout prisoner exchange went through without issues. 2023 Connecticut Sun Season
The 2023 Connecticut Sun season was the 25th season for the Connecticut Sun franchise of the Women's National Basketball Association. It was the 21st season for the franchise in Connecticut after relocating from Orlando. On November 22, 2022, the Sun announced that Stephanie White would be the new head coach for the franchise, after Curt Miller left for the same job with Los Angeles. White previously coached in the WNBA with the Indiana Fever, while most recently coaching for the Vanderbilt Commodores women's basketball team. 2023 WNBA Season
The 2023 WNBA season is the 27th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Las Vegas Aces are the defending champions. The regular season was expanded to 40 games per team, becoming the most games scheduled in a single WNBA season. The Los Angeles Sparks (LA Sparks) are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. The Sparks compete in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) as a member club of the league's Western Conference. The team was founded before the league's inaugural 1997 season began.
