Living Walls (conference)
Living Walls, The City Speaks is an annual street art conference co-founded in 2009 by Monica Campana & Blacki Migliozzi. Blankenship, Jessica (13 August 2010)"Living Walls" ''Creative Loafing''. The conference was first held in 2010. It was originally held in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2011, a sister event, called "Living Walls, Albany" was also held in Albany, New York. Events During the events, local and invited artists create murals and other street art. Artists often paint directly on vacant buildings, though always after showing plans to and acquiring permission from building owners. According to the organizer of the Albany event, "The entire point of this project is revitalization". The Atlanta events also included lectures and a gallery show. In 2012, only female artists were invited to participate. WRGB
WRGB (channel 6) is a television station licensed to Schenectady, New York, United States, serving the Capital District as an affiliate of CBS. It is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group alongside CW affiliate WCWN (channel 45, also licensed to Schenectady). Both stations share studios on Balltown Road in Niskayuna, New York (with a Schenectady postal address), while WRGB's transmitter is located on the Helderberg Escarpment west of New Salem. WRGB is notable for being one of the first television stations in the world. It began broadcasting experimentally in early 1928, with the first daily programs being broadcast later that year. Hyuro
Hyuro born Tamara Djurovic (1974 – November 19, 2020) was an Argentinian-born Street artist who came to notice when based in Valencia in Spain. Her huge murals appear in many countries. They frequently feature faceless women and they highlight issues including gender based violence and deaths due to abortion. Life She was born in 1974 in Argentina. She had learned to be an artist and paint but on canvas. Her career came to notice when she came to Europe to take a master's degree at the Technical University of Valencia and she became involved in street art. She was introduced to the appeal of murals by Escif who is based in Valencia. He was born in 1997 and his art consists of simple images designed to make the viewer think. Hyuro's first mural on a wall was in 2010. Hyuro's images are also monochrome or with very muted colours. Festivals In Atlanta
Atlanta's mild climate and plentiful trees allow for festivals and events to take place in the city year-round.
