Living Legends (reforestation Project)
Living Legends was an organization that managed 17 native tree planting projects throughout New Zealand from 2011–2015. Each planting took place in conjunction with provincial rugby unions and was dedicated to a regional "Rugby Legend" selected by the union. These Rugby Legends are people who have made a significant contribution to rugby in New Zealand. Living Legends planted over 170,000 native trees. The plantings all took place on public conservation land. Plantings were scheduled to be held in Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Taupō, Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay, Manawatu, Horowhenua/Kapiti, Wellington, Tasman, Buller/West Coast, Mid Canterbury, Christchurch, Otago and Southland. Northland, Wellington
Northland is an affluent suburb in west-central Wellington, New Zealand. Not far from Victoria University it also includes low-priced accommodation popular with young students. It borders the suburbs of Highbury, Kelburn, Thorndon, Wilton, Wadestown and Karori. Northland is populated by a mix of university students, young professionals and families. Part of the area was known as Creswick until the late 19th century when new roads and building sites were developed by the landowner, C J Pharazyn, who marketed the whole area as Northland. Buller District
Buller District is one of 53 districts of New Zealand, and is within the West Coast Region. It covers Westport, Karamea, Reefton and Inangahua Junction. Buller District's overall land area is . Meridian Energy
Meridian Energy Limited is a New Zealand electricity generator and retailer. The company generates the largest proportion of New Zealand's electricity, generating 35 percent of the country's electricity in the year ending December 2014, and is the fourth largest retailer, with 14 percent of market share in terms of customers as of December 2015. The Department of Conservation (DOC; Māori: ''Te Papa Atawhai'') is the public service department of New Zealand charged with the conservation of New Zealand's natural and historical heritage. An advisory body, the New Zealand Conservation Authority (NZCA) is provided to advise DOC and its ministers. In addition there are 15 conservation boards for different areas around the country that provide for interaction between DOC and the public. Sir Stephen Robert Tindall (born May 1951) is the founder of New Zealand retailer The Warehouse, The Warehouse Group, and the Tindall Foundation. Early life and education Tindall attended Takapuna Grammar and has a Diploma of Management from the Auckland Institute of Technology. Project Crimson
__NOTOC__ Project Crimson is a conservation initiative to promote the protection of the metrosideros excelsa, pōhutukawa and the Metrosideros, rātā which are under threat due to browsing by the introduced common brushtail possum. The vision of the project is to "enable pōhutukawa and rātā to flourish again in their natural habitat as icons in the hearts and minds of all New Zealanders." History The initiative for Project Crimson grew out of a Forest Research Institute investigation (1989) into the health of pōhutukawa (Metrosideros excelsa). Scientists discovered that more than 90% of coastal pōhutukawa stands had been eliminated. The tree had entirely disappeared in many areas along the west coast of Northland. Southland District
Southland District is a Districts of New Zealand, territorial authority district in New Zealand that covers the south of the South Island as well as Stewart Island, Stewart Island/Rakiura. History Southland District was formed through the 1989 local government reforms. Mid Canterbury
Mid Canterbury (also spelt Mid-Canterbury and mid-Canterbury) is a traditional, semi-official subregion of New Zealand's Canterbury Region extending inland from the Pacific coast to the Southern Alps. West Coast Region

Tasman Region
Tasman District () is a local government district in the northwest of the South Island of New Zealand. It borders the Canterbury Region, West Coast Region, Marlborough Region and Nelson City.
