Living In The Present Future
''Living in the Present Future'' is the second studio album by Swedish rock singer-songwriter Eagle-Eye Cherry. It was released in 2000. Cherry worked with such producers as The Dust Brothers, John Kurzweg, and Rick Rubin. Four songs from the album were released as singles: " Are You Still Having Fun?", "Long Way Around", "Promises Made" and "Feels So Right". The only single to experience success across multiple regions was "Are You Still Having Fun?", which reached the top 40 in France, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Eagle-Eye Cherry
Eagle-Eye Lanoo Cherry (born 7 May 1968) is a Swedish singer and stage performer. His 1997 single "Save Tonight" achieved commercial success in Ireland, the United States and the United Kingdom, and was voted song of the year in New Zealand. Cherry is the son of American jazz artist Don Cherry and Swedish artist and designer Moki Cherry. He pursued acting during high school, though Cherry's acting career was eventually set aside as his musical career took precedence in his life with his debut album ''Desireless'' (1997). He has released several other albums since his debut, and has co-written for other artists and films, and has guest-starred on reality television. Cherry's music is of the acoustic, rock, post-grunge and alternative rock genres. He is fluent in both English and Swedish. Pedal Steel Guitar
The pedal steel guitar is a Console steel guitar, console-type of steel guitar with pedals and knee levers that change the pitch of certain strings to enable playing more varied and complex music than any previous steel guitar design. Like all steel guitars, it can play unlimited glissando, glissandi (sliding notes) and deep vibrato, vibrati—characteristics it shares with the human voice. Pedal steel is most commonly associated with American country music and Music of Hawaii, Hawaiian music. Pedals were added to a lap steel guitar in 1940, allowing the performer to play a major scale without moving the Steel bar, bar and also to push the pedals while striking a chord, making passing notes slur or bend up into harmony with existing notes. Chamberlin
The Chamberlin is an electro-mechanical keyboard instrument that was a precursor to the Mellotron. It was developed and patented by the American inventor Harry Chamberlin from 1949 to 1956, when the first model was introduced. There are several models and versions of the Chamberlin. While most are keyboard-based, there were also early drum machines produced and sold. Some of these drum patterns feature the work of Chamberlin's son Richard. Development Harry Chamberlin's idea for the instrument came from recording himself playing an organ, and conceiving its playback as entertainment. The Moog synthesizer is a modular synthesizer developed by the American engineer Robert Moog. Moog debuted it in 1964, and Moog's company R. A. Moog Co. (later known as Moog Music) produced numerous models from 1965 to 1981, and again from 2014. The Rhodes piano (also known as the Fender Rhodes piano) is an electric piano invented by Harold Rhodes, which became popular in the 1970s. Like a conventional piano, the Rhodes generates sound with keys and hammers, but instead of strings, the hammers strike thin metal tines, which vibrate next to an electromagnetic pickup. The signal is then sent through a cable to an external keyboard amplifier and speaker. The instrument evolved from Rhodes's attempt to manufacture pianos while teaching recovering soldiers during World War II. Development continued after the war and into the following decade. Michael Simpson (producer)
Michael Simpson, also known as "E.Z. Mike", is an American record producer. Along with John King, he makes up one-half of the Los Angeles-based producing duo the Dust Brothers, who co-wrote and produced many critically acclaimed records including the Beastie Boys' ''Paul's Boutique'' and Beck's ''Odelay''. He won a Grammy Award for his song writing & production on Santana's '' Supernatural'' album in 1999. He has also done producing on his own - most notable is his work with the Eels.
