Living Hard
''Living Hard'' is the seventh studio album by American country music singer Gary Allan. It was released on October 23, 2007 via MCA Nashville. The album debuted at number three on the U.S. ''Billboard'' 200 chart, selling approximately 69,000 copies during its first week. Its lead-off single, "Watching Airplanes", reached number 2 on the country charts, its second single " Learning How to Bend" peaked at number 13, and the third single " She's So California" went to number 24. "Like It's a Bad Thing" was later recorded by Danny Gokey on his 2010 debut album ''My Best Days''. "Half of My Mistakes" was written by Bobby Houck and Radney Foster and originally recorded by Houck's band, the Blue Dogs, on their 2004 album, ''Halos and Good Buys'', then by Foster on his 2004 album ''And Then There's Me (The Back Porch Sessions)'', and finally by Jace Everett on his 2005 self-titled debut album. Gary Allan Herzberg (born December 5, 1967) is an American country music singer. Signed to Decca Records in 1996, Allan made his country music debut with the release of his single " Her Man", the lead-off to his gold-certified debut album '' Used Heart for Sale'', which was released in 1996 on Decca. His second album, ''It Would Be You'', followed in 1998. Allan's third album, ''Smoke Rings in the Dark'', was his first one for MCA Nashville (to which he has been signed ever since) and his first platinum album. The Blue Dogs are a band formed in 1987 by Bobby Houck and Hank Futch, based in Charleston, South Carolina. Known for their American roots sound and interactive performances, the band has become a staple in southern live entertainment and the Americana scene. History Early years Having known each other since their cub scout days in their hometown of Florence, South Carolina, Houck and Futch started the Blue Dogs as an acoustic oriented act rooted in bluegrass and country covers while attending Davidson College and College of Charleston, respectively. Casey Michael Beathard ( ; born December 2, 1965) is an American country music songwriter. The son of former NFL general manager Bobby Beathard, and father to current Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback C. J. Beathard, and country music artist Tucker Beathard, he has co-written singles for several country music recording artists, including top-ten singles for Gary Allan, Billy Ray Cyrus, Trace Adkins, Kenny Chesney, and Eric Church. Walter Scott Emerick (born July 11, 1973, in Hollywood, Florida) is an American country music artist, known primarily for his work with Toby Keith. In addition to penning several of Keith's singles, Emerick has also written for Sawyer Brown, George Strait, Kenny Chesney and several other artists. Dean Dillon (born Larry Dean Flynn; March 26, 1955) is an American country musician and songwriter. Between 1982 and 1993, he recorded six studio albums on various labels, and charted several singles on the '' Billboard'' country charts.
