The 2022–23 Premier League match between Liverpool and Bournemouth at Anfield, Liverpool, took place on Saturday 27 August 2022. Liverpool won 9–0, which is the joint-largest win in the history of the competition. Previously, the feat had been achieved on three occasions in the Premier League; twice by Manchester United in 1995 and 2021 against Ipswich Town and Southampton respectively, and once by Leicester City in 2019, also against Southampton. The 2022–23 Premier League will be the 31st season of the Premier League, and the 124th season of top-flight English football overall. The provisional fixtures are scheduled to be released on Wednesday 15 June 2022. As of the 2022–23 season, clubs will be able to make five rather than three substitutions on three occasions during game time and at half time in line with rest of the top six European leagues, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, the Eredivisie, La Liga and Serie A. Jürgen Norbert Klopp (; born 16 June 1967) is a German professional football manager and former player who is the manager of club Liverpool. He is widely regarded as one of the best managers in the world. Klopp spent most of his playing career at Mainz 05. He was initially deployed as a striker, but was later moved to defence. On 22 August 2022, Olivia Pratt-Korbel, a nine-year-old girl, was shot by a masked gunman in Liverpool, England, and was pronounced dead the same day at the city's Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
