Liverpool Broadgreen was a parliamentary constituency centred on the Broadgreen suburb of Liverpool. It returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. The constituency was created for the 1983 general election, and abolished for the 1997 general election. Liverpool Edge Hill was a borough constituency within the city and metropolitan borough of Liverpool, in the English county of Merseyside, centred on Edge Hill. It returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, elected by the first-past-the-post voting system. The constituency was created in 1918 and abolished in 1983. History There were two by-elections in Liverpool Edge Hill, following the deaths of its incumbent Members of Parliament. The region of North West England is divided into 75 parliamentary constituencies, of which 39 are borough constituencies and 36 are county constituencies. Since the general election of December 2019, 31 are represented by Conservative MPs, 42 by Labour MPs, 1 by a Liberal Democrat MP, and 1 by the Speaker. The 1987 United Kingdom general election was held on Thursday, 11 June 1987, to elect 650 members to the House of Commons. The election was the third consecutive general election victory for the Conservative Party, and second landslide under the leadership of Margaret Thatcher, who became the first Prime Minister since the Earl of Liverpool in 1820 to lead a party into three successive electoral victories. The 1992 United Kingdom general election was held on Thursday 9 April 1992, to elect 651 members to the House of Commons. The election resulted in the fourth consecutive victory for the Conservative Party since 1979 and would be the last time that the Conservatives would win an overall majority at a general election until 2015. Terry Fields
Terence Fields (8 March 1937 – 28 June 2008) was a British politician and firefighter.
