''Live on WBAB'' is the first live concert album by American rock band Crack the Sky. The album was released by Lifesong Records (catalog #LS-100) in 1976 (see 1976 in music), but only to radio stations for promotional purposes. It came in a plain white sleeve with only a sticker identifying the record, and photocopied inserts about the band. Crack The Sky
Crack the Sky is an American progressive rock band formed in Weirton, West Virginia, in the early 1970s. In 1975, ''Rolling Stone'' declared their first album the "debut album of the year", and in 1978, ''Rolling Stone Record Guide'' compared them to Steely Dan."Pie in the Sky" Joab Jackson, '''', July 12, 1995. Backing Vocalist
A backing vocalist is a singer who provides vocal harmony with the lead vocalist or other backing vocalists. A backing vocalist may also sing alone as a lead-in to the main vocalist's entry or to sing a counter-melody. Backing vocalists are used in a broad range of popular music, traditional music, and world music styles. Solo artists may employ professional backing vocalists in studio recording sessions as well as during concerts. Terry Cashman
Terry Cashman (born Dennis Minogue, July 5, 1941) is an American record producer and singer-songwriter, best known for his 1981 chart-topper, hit, "Talkin' Baseball". While the song is well recognized today and allowed Cashman the chance to meet the featured players, it was all but ignored by typical Top 40 radio during its chart life, making only the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. Early life Cashman was born in New York City and grew up in northern Manhattan a fan of the History of the New York Giants (baseball), New York Giants (and subsequently the San Francisco Giants) until he became a New York Mets fan when Willie Mays was traded to them in 1972. Career Cashman was the lead singer for a band called The Chevrons (US band), The Chevrons, in the late 1950s through the early 1960s. ''Live Sky'' is a live concert album by American rock band Crack the Sky, released on LP in 1978 (see 1978 in music) by Lifesong Records (catalog #JZ 35620). In 1988, four of these recordings were appended to the CD release of ''Live on WBAB'' ("Maybe I Can Fool Everybody (Tonight)", "Lighten Up McGraw", "She's a Dancer", "I Am the Walrus"). In 2006, six of these recordings (remixed and remastered) were included on ''Alive and Kickin' Ass'', a live CD compiled from the same 1978 shows as ''Live Sky''. The version of "She's a Dancer" that appears on ''Live Sky'' was edited for length; the complete performance appears on ''Alive and Kickin' Ass''.
