Anal Cunt
Anal Cunt, also known as AxCx and A.C., was an American grindcore band that formed in Newton, Massachusetts, in 1988. From its inception, the band underwent a number of line-up changes and never had a bass player. The band, known for its flippant and noisy musical style as well as controversial lyrics, released eight full-length studio albums in addition to a number of compilations and extended plays. Anal Cunt disbanded in 2011 after the group's founder and frontman, Seth Putnam, died of a suspected heart attack. The band is often referred to by their initials A.C. (often written as AxCx) due to the offensive nature of their name and censorship limits on some radio and publications, and many of their album covers simply display the initials A.C. However, the band managed to subvert even this abbreviation by drawing these letters in a manner resembling an anus and a vulva. The group's early material contained no pre-written lyrics or music. Rather, the band developed an entirel ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Picnic Of Love
''Picnic of Love'' is the fifth album by Anal Cunt. It was released on July 21, 1998. The album was released as a joke and a parody of love songs, as well as of the band itself. The album is characterized by the opposite of everything that the band represents. While the normal Anal Cunt album consists of 40 to 50 tracks, mainly under a minute in length, ''Picnic of Love'' contains only eleven comparatively long tracks. The downtuned distorted guitars, rapid drumming and screeched vocals of other Anal Cunt albums is replaced by soft acoustic guitar and vocalist Seth Putnam singing in gentle falsetto. The most apparent change is the lyrical content: all of the songs are about inoffensive, sweet subjects as opposed to the band's more typical deliberately offensive or provocative lyrics. Content observation Allmusic's review of the album erroneously claims that ''Picnic of Love'' "is a collection of ballads that never ceases to have a tragic and violent ending by the end of each song ... A Tribute To Slapshot
A, or a, is the first letter and the first vowel of the Latin alphabet, used in the modern English alphabet, the alphabets of other western European languages and others worldwide. Its name in English is ''a'' (pronounced ), plural ''aes''. It is similar in shape to the Ancient Greek letter alpha, from which it derives. The uppercase version consists of the two slanting sides of a triangle, crossed in the middle by a horizontal bar. The lowercase version can be written in two forms: the double-storey a and single-storey ɑ. The latter is commonly used in handwriting and fonts based on it, especially fonts intended to be read by children, and is also found in italic type. In English grammar, " a", and its variant " an", are indefinite articles. History The earliest certain ancestor of "A" is aleph (also written 'aleph), the first letter of the Phoenician alphabet, which consisted entirely of consonants (for that reason, it is also called an abjad to distinguish it fro ... Eyehategod
Eyehategod (also abbreviated and referred to as EHG) is an American sludge metal band from New Orleans, Louisiana who formed in 1988. They have become one of the better known bands to emerge from the NOLA metal scene. Their core lineup has remained consistent since the band's inception, with the exception of the bassist (the role of which has been filled by several musicians over the years), until the death of drummer Joey LaCaze in 2013. As of 2021, the band has released seven studio albums. Eyehategod have noted the Melvins, Carnivore, The Obsessed, Discharge, Black Flag, Corrosion of Conformity, Black Sabbath, Celtic Frost, Confessor, and Saint Vitus as key influences to their sound. Heavy, detuned, and bluesy guitar riffs dominate the band's discography. The band were friends with grindcore group Anal Cunt and performed ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Patareni
Patareni are a hardcore punk, noise, and grindcore band from Zagreb, Croatia, formed in 1983. Owing to their formation at such an early date, they are considered to be one of the earliest grindcore bands. Their discography is extensive, consisting of many CDs, LPs, and split singles with bands such as Extreme Noise Terror, Agathocles and Cripple Bastards. Through these releases they gained a reputation as a cult band and many bands have cited Patareni as being one of their primary influences, which prompted the release of ''A Tribute to the Patareni'' by Roots Records and F'K'O" in 1994. In 2009, ''Terrorizer'' listed Patareni's ''Back to the Roots'' as one of its top 20 essential European grindcore albums. James Hoare, writing for ''Terrorizer'', said, "Much beloved by Anal Cunt's Seth Putnam, who felt moved enough to write to them back in the day, Croatia's Patareni were the band for whom the word 'raw' was coined. Hugely influential, some grindcore historians even argue they we ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

12-inch Single
The twelve-inch single (often written as 12-inch or 12″) is a type of vinyl ( polyvinyl chloride or PVC) gramophone record that has wider groove spacing and shorter playing time with a 'single' or a few related sound tracks on each surface, compared to LPs (long play) which have several songs on each side. This allows for louder levels to be cut on the disc by the mastering engineer, which in turn gives a wider dynamic range, and thus better sound quality. This record type is commonly used in disco and dance music genres, where DJs use them to play in clubs. They are played at either or 45 . The conventional 7‐inch single usually holds three or four minutes of music at full volume. The 12‐inch LP sacrifices volume for extended playing time. Technical features Twelve-inch singles typically have much shorter playing time than full-length LPs, and thus require fewer grooves per inch. This extra space permits a broader dynamic range or louder recording level as the gr ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Relapse Records

The label features many grindcore, death metal, metalcore and sludge metal artists. History The label was started by Matthew F. Jacobson in August, 1990 in his parents' basement in Aurora, Colorado. The first two releases on the label were 7-inch singles by the bands Velcro Overdose and Face of Decline, closely followed by three death metal bands that would become among the biggest on the label, Deceased, Suffocation, and Incantation. After this, Jacobson became acquainted with William Yurkiewicz Jr., who became his partner in the record label. Yurkiewicz had founded his own record label, which was soon to release albums from the bands General Surgery, Disrupt, Destroy, Misery, and Yurkiewicz's own band Exit-13. Gramophone Record
A phonograph record (also known as a gramophone record, especially in British English), or simply a record, is an analog sound storage medium in the form of a flat disc with an inscribed, modulated spiral groove. The groove usually starts near the periphery and ends near the center of the disc. At first, the discs were commonly made from shellac, with earlier records having a fine abrasive filler mixed in. Starting in the 1940s polyvinyl chloride became common, hence the name vinyl. The phonograph record was the primary medium used for music reproduction throughout the 20th century. It had co-existed with the phonograph cylinder from the late 1880s and had effectively superseded it by around 1912. Records retained the largest market share even when new formats such as the compact cassette were mass-marketed. By the 1980s, digital media, in the form of the compact disc, had gained a larger market share, and the record left the mainstream in 1991. Since the 1990s, records con ... Fuckin' A
''Fuckin' A'' is the eighth and final full-length album by American grindcore band Anal Cunt. It was released digitally on August 10, 2010, and then physically on January 11, 2011. The album is intended to be a parody of "cock rock" bands such as Mötley Crüe and Buckcherry and its cover uses the same image as Mötley Crüe's debut album ''Too Fast for Love''. Some versions of the CD cover had the umlaut in "Anal" moved to the N, and a completely different font for the album title. Many songs that are in the band's signature grindcore style were recorded during the ''Fuckin' A'' sessions and were released on an EP titled ''Wearing Out Our Welcome'' in 2010. The band initially planned to release an eighth studio album titled ''The Same Old Shit'' which would contain both the "cock rock" songs and the grindcore songs together, but ultimately decided to release them separately. It Just Gets Worse
''It Just Gets Worse'' is the sixth album by the grindcore band Anal Cunt, released on November 9, 1999, on Earache Records. Recording information The album was recorded between August 1998 and August 1999 (except tracks 38 and 39 which were recorded and mixed in August 1997), although the majority of it was recorded after the band's 1998 tour in Japan. The guitar and drums were recorded on a 4-track at Anal Cunt's practice space and the vocals were recorded on a PA in the studio, where vocalist Seth Putnam mixed it. The album was then released after their 1999 European tour with the band Flächenbrand and was the last of the band's albums released under the Earache label which they got dropped from in May 2000. "Your Kid Committed Suicide Because You Suck" was originally titled " Connor Clapton Committed Suicide Because His Father Sucks".
