Ted Nugent
Theodore Anthony Nugent (; born December 13, 1948) is an American rock musician and activist. He initially gained fame as the lead guitarist and occasional lead vocalist of The Amboy Dukes, a band formed in 1963 that played psychedelic rock and hard rock. After dissolving the band, he embarked on a successful solo career. His first three solo albums, ''Ted Nugent'' (1975), ''Free-for-All'' (1976) and ''Cat Scratch Fever'' (1977), were certified multi-platinum in the United States. His latest album, ''Detroit Muscle'', was released in 2022. Nugent is known for his Gibson Byrdland, his bluesy and frenzied guitar playing, and his energetic live shows. Despite possessing a distinctive, wide-ranging singing voice, Nugent recorded and toured with other lead singers during much of his early solo career, including Derek St. Holmes, Charlie Huhn, Brian Howe and Meat Loaf, only taking on full lead vocal duties later on. King Biscuit Flower Hour
The ''King Biscuit Flower Hour'' was an American syndicated radio show presented by the D.I.R. Radio Network that featured concert performances by various rock music recording artists. History The program was broadcast on Sunday nights from 1973 until 1993. Following the end of original programming, the broadcast continued on Sunday nights until 2005, airing previously broadcast shows. During its prime, the program was carried by more than 300 radio stations throughout the United States. The show's name was derived from the influential blues radio show ''King Biscuit Time'', which was sponsored by the King Biscuit Flour Co., combined with the hippie phrase "flower power". The first show was broadcast on February 18, 1973, and featured Blood, Sweat & Tears, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, and Bruce Springsteen. Tom Werman (born 1945) is an American former record producer responsible for many hard rock and Heavy metal music, heavy metal albums. Early life and education Werman was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, Newton. He earned a bachelor's degree and an MBA from Columbia University; he played guitar in college. Producing career In 1970, bored with his work in advertising, he sent a letter to Clive Davis at Columbia Records, CBS Records and landed a job at Epic Records as an A&R man. Cliff Davies ( – 13 April 2008) was a British drummer. Career If After receiving tuition from pipe band drummer Jock Cree, and playing local gigs in the Aldershot area, in the early 70s Davies went on to join the Roy Young Band and then the second incarnation of the jazz-rock band If from 1972 to 1975. He played on four albums by the band and contributed many of their songs. Charles Huhn (born January 11, 1951) is an American rock singer and guitarist. He got his start playing with Vic Amato, Andy Dennen and Al Lesert in the band Cirrus, in and around Grand Rapids, Michigan, playing many gigs in West Michigan before joining Ted Nugent in 1978. "Stranglehold" is a song by American rock musician Ted Nugent, as well as the debut single and the first track from his self-titled debut 1975 album. The vocals are by Derek St. Holmes. However, the "Sometimes you wanna get higher" verse is sung by Nugent. Nugent admits that the song was co-written by Rob Grange, who received no share. "Stranglehold" is a guitar-driven track, over eight minutes long, and set the stage for Nugent's career. The guitar solo was recorded in a single take.
