Thunder (band)
Thunder are an English hard rock band from London. Formed in 1989, the group was founded by former Terraplane members Danny Bowes (lead vocals), Luke Morley (guitar, backing vocals) and Gary "Harry" James (drums), along with second guitarist and keyboardist Ben Matthews and bassist Mark "Snake" Luckhurst. Originally signed to EMI Records in the UK, the band released their debut album ''Backstreet Symphony'' in 1990, which reached number 21 on the UK Albums Chart and number 114 on the US ''Billboard'' 200. The 1992 follow-up ''Laughing on Judgement Day'' reached number 2, while both albums were certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). All nine singles released from the two albums reached the UK Singles Chart top 40. Luckhurst left the band in late 1992, and was replaced the following February by former Great King Rat bassist Mikael Höglund. ''Live at Donington 1990'' is a live album by English hard rock band Whitesnake. It was recorded at Castle Donington on 18 August 1990 during the Monsters of Rock festival, which the band headlined. It was released on 20 May 2011 in Japan, 3 June in Europe and 7 June in the US. Background The band was performing with a modern sound system during the tour, which ensured an impressive sound quality, and the concert was broadcast live by BBC Radio. Widely bootlegged, fans requested the release of the footage of the concert through a mobilization on the group's website, as well as professional audio of the show. The album was released as a 2-CD set, a single DVD set, a 2CD/DVD digipack, vinyl and as a digital edition. A 30th-anniversary remastered edition of the album was released in August 2020. ''Live at Donington'' is the DVD recording of the Australian rock band AC/DC‘s show at Donington Park on 17 August 1991, directed by David Mallet; it was the band's third Monsters of Rock festival. The two-hour show was performed before 72,500 spectators and included real cannons, the Hells Bell, an inflatable Rosie and two inflatable Anguses: one to the right of the stage, and one in the back of the stage during ''Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be''. It was filmed in 35 mm Panavision and had 26 cameras that included one situated inside a helicopter. The DVD includes special features such as stereo and 5.1 surround sound, Iso-cam versions of certain songs for different band members, and audio commentary from Angus and Malcolm Young.
