Live-Ism
''Live-Ism'' is the third concert film by Swedish pop music duo Roxette, released on 21 August 1992 on VHS and LaserDisc formats by Picture Music International and EMI. It contains a shortened version of the duo's 13 December 1991 concert in the Sydney Entertainment Centre in Australia during the Join the Joyride! Tour, which saw Roxette performing to over 1.5 million people during the tour's 100 shows. The video also contains behind the scenes footage, as well as the music videos to "Church of Your Heart", "(Do You Get) Excited?", and their then-current single "How Do You Do!". ''Live-Ism'' is a companion piece to the duo's fourth studio album, ''Tourism'', which was released a week after the film. Furthermore, the audio of two live recordings featured on ''Tourism'' – "The Look" and " Joyride" – are both taken from the same concert featured on ''Live-Ism''. The Videos (Roxette Video)
''The Videos'' is the first music video compilation by Swedish pop music duo Roxette, released on 16 November 1991 on VHS and LaserDisc formats by EMI and Picture Music International. It consists of the music videos of every commercially-released single from both their 1988 album '' Look Sharp!'' and 1991 album '' Joyride'', as well as the non-album single "It Must Have Been Love" from the ''Pretty Woman'' soundtrack. The version of "It Must Have Been Love" contained on this video is unique to this release, as it is the only version which removed all of the footage from ''Pretty Woman''. ''The Videos'' does not included "Chances" from ''Look Sharp!'', as that single only received a limited release in select European territories. Join The Joyride! Tour
The "Join the Joyride! World Tour" was the third concert tour by Swedish pop duo Roxette. Their first tour to incorporate dates outside of Scandinavia, it was launched in support of their third studio album, '' Joyride'' (1991), and saw the band playing a total of 100 shows throughout Europe, Australia and the Americas. Canadian rock band Glass Tiger supported Roxette on all European dates, while support on the Canadian and US dates was provided by fellow Canadian pop groups World on Edge and West End Girls. Reception The tour was originally scheduled to begin in North America, although Per Gessle later explained: "We were supposed to start the tour in America, but then everything got sort of screwed up because of the gulf crisis. Recreational Records was a British record label set up in 1981 by the Bristol record shop and distributor Revolver Records. Originally formed as an independent record label with its own distribution as part of The Cartel (record distributor), the Cartel. ''Tourism: Songs from Studios, Stages, Hotelrooms & Other Strange Places'' is the fourth studio album by Swedish pop duo Roxette, released on 28 August 1992 by EMI. Despite often being mistaken for a live album, the record was described by Roxette in its liner notes as a "tour album"; the band recorded the majority of its material in numerous recording studios in-between live dates of their worldwide Join the Joyride! Tour. The album contains three live concert recordings, while another track was recorded live in an empty nightclub in São Paulo. A further two tracks were recorded in Buenos Aires' Alvear Palace Hotel. The album received mixed reviews from American publications upon release, with several of them confused over its concept, and incorrectly describing it as containing just five previously unreleased songs. "Joyride" is a song by Swedish pop duo Roxette. Written by Per Gessle, it was released on 25 February 1991 as the lead single from their third studio album, '' Joyride'' (1991). It became one of Roxette's biggest hits, and was one of the most successful singles of 1991, topping multiple record charts across Europe, as well as in Australia, Canada, and the United States. The song's accompanying music video received heavy rotation on MTV Europe. Recording and release Per Gessle has said that the opening line of the song was inspired by a note his girlfriend (now wife) left on his piano, which read: "Hej, din tok, jag älskar dig" ("Hello, you fool, I love you"). Its title was derived from an interview in which Paul McCartney compared writing songs with John Lennon to "a long joyride". Per Håkan Gessle (; born 12 January 1959) is a Swedish singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is best known as the male half and primary songwriter of the Swedish pop rock duo Roxette, which he formed with Marie Fredriksson in 1986 and which was disbanded after her death in 2019. The duo achieved international success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their albums '' Look Sharp!'' (1988) and '' Joyride'' (1991), and topped the charts in the US four times, most notably with "It Must Have Been Love" which was featured in the film ''Pretty Woman''. "Church of Your Heart" is the fifth and final single taken from Swedish pop duo Roxette's third studio album, '' Joyride'' (1991). Written by Per Gessle, the song was a top-20 hit in Canada, where it peaked at number 11, and charted throughout Europe, entering the top 40 in several countries. "I Call Your Name" – originally released as a single from their 1986 debut album ''Pearls of Passion'' – appeared as the B-side. Gun-Marie Fredriksson (; 30 May 1958 – 9 December 2019) was a Swedish singer, songwriter, pianist and painter, who was best known internationally as the lead vocalist of pop rock pop duo, duo Roxette, which she formed in 1986 with Per Gessle. The duo achieved international success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their albums ''Look Sharp! (Roxette album), Look Sharp!'' (1988) and ''Joyride (Roxette album), Joyride'' (1991), and had multiple hits on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100, including four number ones. Fredriksson had a successful career in her native country prior to forming Roxette. She was a member of punk rock, punk group Strul, a band which created their own music festival in 1979.
