Livai Natave
Livai Natave (born 20 April 1999) is a Fijian rugby union player who plays for in Super Rugby. His playing position is prop. He was named in the Drua development squad for the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific season. Natave is a naval officer by trade and represented Suva in the Skipper Cup. He was named in the Nadi team for 2023 season. He represented Fiji U20 between 2017 and 2019, and the Fiji Warriors in 2019. He was named in the Fijian Latui squad for the short-lived 2020 Global Rapid Rugby season, before being named as standby for the Fiji national team in July 2022. Nadi
Nadi (pronounced ) is the third-largest conurbation in Fiji. It is located on the western side of the main island of Viti Levu, and had a population of 42,284 at the most recent census, in 2007. A 2012 estimate showed that the population had grown to over 50,000. Nadi is multiracial with many of its inhabitants Asians, Indian or Indigenous Fijians, along with a large transient population of foreign tourists. The 2022 end of year rugby union tests, also known as the 2022 Autumn internationals, were a number of rugby union test matches played during the months of October and November. 2020 Global Rapid Rugby Season
The 2020 season of Global Rapid Rugby ended after only one round of competition due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was not continued. The season was launched in February 2020 as the first full home and away Rapid Rugby tournament, following the shorter showcase series held the previous year. It featured six teams from across the Asia-Pacific region competing for A$1 million in prize money. On 15 March 2020 the competition was suspended due to travel, quarantine and public health restrictions, before being cancelled on 7 April 2020. Prop (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. The Fijian Latui is a professional rugby union team based in Suva that plays in the Global Rapid Rugby competition. Officially launched in March 2019, the Latui played four Pacific Showcase matches during May and June 2019, before joining the inaugural Global Rapid Rugby tournament in 2020. It was originally expected that the team would compete in 2019 for Rapid Rugby's Australian dollar, A$1 million first prize, but the tournament launch was postponed for a year due to the shortened time frame following World Rugby approval in November 2018. The Showcase Series was arranged for 2019 instead. Name Latui, in Fijian language, Fijian, refers to the Fiji goshawk, a small hawk found in that country.
