Liuliqiao Subdistrict
Liuliqiao Subdistrict (), formerly known as Lugouqiao Subdistrict (), is one of the 14 subdistricts of Fengtai District, Beijing, China. It is situated on the north of Fengtai, south of Wangshoulu and Yangfangdian Townships, west of Taipingqiao Subdistrict, north of Fengtai Subdistrict, east of Babaoshan Subdistrict, and is contained by Lugouqiao Subdistrict (formerly Lugouqiao Township). Liuliqiao has a population of 223,304 as of the 2020 census. The subdistrict was previously known as Lugouqiao (), which was the native Chinese name of Marco Polo Bridge. On July 11, 2021, its name was changed to Liuliqiao (), while the Lugouqiao Township was converted to Lugouqiao Subdistrict. A subdistrict ()' is one of the smaller administrative divisions of China, administrative divisions of China. It is a form of townships of China, township-level division which is typically part of a larger urban area, as opposed to a discrete towns of China, town (zhèn, 镇) surrounded by rural areas, or a rural townships of China, township (xiāng, 乡). Marco Polo Bridge
The Marco Polo Bridge or Lugou Bridge () is a stone bridge located 15 km southwest of Beijing's city center in the Fengtai District. It bridges the Yongding River, a major tributary of Hai River. Situated at the eastern end of the bridge is the Wanping Fortress, a historic 17th-century fortress, with the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression inside. In recent years, the water of Yongding River has been diverted to different areas of Beijing, so there is often no water under the bridge. Names The name "Marco Polo Bridge" derives from the appearance, before its reconstruction, in Marco Polo's book of travels, where he praised it highly. 2020 Chinese Census
The Seventh National Population Census of the People's Republic of China (), also referred to as the 2020 Chinese Census, was the seventh national census conducted by the National Bureau of Statistics of the People's Republic of China. Census work began on November 1, 2020 and continued through December 10, 2020, involving seven million census workers. Fengtai Subdistrict () is a subdistrict of Fengtai District, Beijing, China. It borders Lugouqiao Township to the northeast, Xincun Subdistrict to the soueast, Huaxiang Township to the southwest, and Lugouqiao Subdistrict to the northwest. Taipingqiao Subdistrict
Taipingqiao Subdistrict () is a subdistrict located at the northern end of Fengtai District, Beijing, China. It shares border with Yangfangdian Subdistrict in the north, Guang'anmenwai and You'anmen Subdistricts in the east, Lugouqiao Subdistrict in the west, and has several exclaves inside of Lugouqiao Township. In 2020, it had a population of 74,275 residents. The name Taipingqiao () refers to a village in the region that predated the subdistrict.
