Liu Xuxu
Liu Xuxu (; born 10 January, 1989) is a professional wushu taolu athlete from Hong Kong. Within three renditions of the World Wushu Championships, she has already become a nine-time medalist and five-time world champion. Career Originally a member of the Shandong Wushu Team, Liu relocated to Hong Kong and made her debut at the 2015 World Wushu Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia, where she became the world champion in daoshu and duilian, and also won a silver medal in changquan. Her success qualified her for the 1st Taolu World Cup in Fuzhou, China, where she became a triple gold medalist in her primary disciplines and also won a bronze medal in duilian. A year later, she competed in the 2017 World Wushu Championships in Kazan, Russia, and won medals of all colors in her main disciplines. ''Wushu'' (), or ''Kung fu'', is a hard and soft and complete martial art, as well as a full-contact combat sport. It has a long history in reference to Chinese martial arts. It was developed in 1949 in an effort to standardize the practice of traditional Chinese martial arts, yet attempts to structure the various decentralized martial arts traditions date back earlier, when the Central Guoshu Institute was established at Nanking in 1928. "''Wushu''" is the Chinese term for "martial arts" (武 "Wu" = combat or martial, 術 "Shu" = art). In contemporary times, Wushu has become an international sport under the International Wushu Federation (IWUF), which holds the World Wushu Championships every two years. The Asian Wushu Championships is a continental wushu championship hosted by the Wushu Federation of Asia (WFA), the official continental representative to the International Wushu Federation. The competition is open to the 37 member nations of the WFA and their respective national teams. A ''gun'' (pronunciation , English approximation: , ) or ''bang'' () is a long Chinese staff weapon used in Chinese martial arts. It is known as one of the four major weapons, along with the ''qiang'' (spear), ''dao'' (sabre), and the ''jian'' (straight sword). It is called, in this group, "The Grandfather of all Weapons".
