Littleton High School (Massachusetts)
Littleton High School is a public high school located at 56 King Street, Littleton, Massachusetts, United States. It serves students in grades 9-12 from the town of Littleton. The building was opened in 2002. It was formerly located on the site of the current middle school from 1957–2002 on Russell Street. From 1924 to 1957 it was located on Shattuck Street in the building that now houses the town offices and the Reuben Hoar library. From 1957–1968 it was operated as a Junior/Senior high school and again from 1989–2002. Academics Littleton High School currently has three levels of classes: College Prep, Honors, and Advanced Placement. Athletics The athletic director of Littleton High School is Mike Lynn. Littleton is part of the Midland Wachusett League, which includes schools such as Bromfield, Gardner, and Clinton. In girls' and boys' rowing, LHS is a co-op with Westford Academy. Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System
The Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment system, commonly abbreviated as MCAS , is Massachusetts's statewide standards-based assessment program developed in 1993 in response to the Massachusetts Education Reform Act of the same year. State and federal law mandates that all students who are enrolled in the tested grades and who are educated with Massachusetts public funds participate in MCAS testing. If necessary, students are given multiple opportunities to take the test to maximize the chance that said student will pass the exam. The Bromfield School
The Bromfield School is a public school located in Harvard, Massachusetts. Founded in 1878 by Margaret Bromfield Blanchard, the school's student population is approximately 750, in grades 6–12. There are 57 teachers, with a student/faculty ratio of about 1 to 13. Bromfield's academic program includes core courses in mathematics, English, social studies, and science, as well as music, world languages, physical education and fine and applied arts. Gardner High School
Gardner High School is a public high school in Gardner, Massachusetts. History Gardner High School was established in 1872, with the first graduating class being the Class of 1876. In 1897, a school building was designed by the architecture firm Barker & Nourse and was located at 130 Elm Street. In 1978, Walt Dubzinski, Class of 1937, was named principal of Gardner High. From 1946 to 1966, Dubzinski served as the school football coach, and was named assistant principal in 1966. Westford Academy
Westford Academy is the public high school for the town of Westford, Massachusetts, United States. It was incorporated in 1792 and is one of the oldest public high schools in the United States. History Westford Academy (WA) was founded as a private school in 1792, "for children 'of any nation, age, or sex.'" As long as students could read the Bible and pay the required 9 shillings a term, both boys and girls were allowed to attend. WA became a public school in 1928 after a town meeting vote on April 30, 1928, when " e residents of Westford agreed to purchase the “Westford Academy” from the Trustees of the academy."
