Little Maracanazo
Little Maracanazo was a football match played between Fluminense FC of Brazil and Deportivo Italia of Venezuela in the group stage of the 1971 Copa Libertadores. Fluminense, managed by Lobo Zagalo who had just won the 1970 World Cup, were defeated 1–0. History Deportivo Italia was Venezuela's Champion of the 1971 season. The Italo-Venezuelan team traveled to the Maracanã Stadium and took home a 1:0 victory against the Fluminense FC. The goal was scored by central defender Tenorio. The Fluminense of famous Lobo Zagalo, Champion of Brazil, was defeated that year for the first time in its own Maracanã. Fréderic José Elie Arlet (10 March 1946 – 2 November 2023) was a Haitian-born Venezuelan football player and manager. Born in Haiti, he made 20 appearances for the Venezuela national team between 1964 and 1977. Career Freddy Elie stood out for his passing ability and speed. He grew up in La Guaira, Venezuela, debuting professionally with Deportivo Galicia, then moving to Deportivo Italia in 1970. Pompeo D'Ambrosio (1 January 1917, in San Marco Evangelista (near Salerno), Italy – 15 April 1998, in Caracas, Venezuela). He was very renowned in the Italian community in Caracas and was very active - with his financial activity in one of the main Venezuelan banks ("Banco Latino") - for the promotion of many successful Italian entrepreneurs in Venezuela. is a character created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. He is the title character of the ''Mario'' franchise and the mascot of Japanese video game company Nintendo.
