Manufactured by the Allan Herschell Company, the ride opened to the public in 1985. The coaster was originally located in East Dundee, IL at Santa's Village, where it was known as Snowball Express. It was removed in 1985 and placed in storage, until it was bought and moved to Dorney Park. Maximum rider height was 34". It was originally named the Colossus Junior & Little Laser, but its name was changed to Steel First for the 2009 season after the removal of another roller coaster at the park known as Laser. Cosmic Coaster (Valleyfair)
Cosmic Coaster is a steel junior roller coaster at Valleyfair. The ride was originally known as Dragon Coaster when it was located at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The Allan Herschell Company specialized in the creation of amusement rides, particularly carousels and roller coasters. The company manufactured portable machines that could be used by traveling carnival operators. It was started in 1915 in the town of North Tonawanda, just outside Buffalo, New York, USA. Santa's Village Amusement & Water Park (formerly known and colloquially referred to this day as simply Santa's Village) is a theme park in East Dundee, Illinois. It was originally built by Glenn Holland, who also built two other Santa's Villages, in California; one located in San Bernardino County and the other in Santa Cruz County. The Illinois park, the third to be built, was intended to be the flagship of a chain of Santa's Villages across the country. However, parks planned for Richmond, Virginia and Cherry Hill, New Jersey, were never built, and the park in East Dundee became the last of its kind.
