Little Island is an island in the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., just south of Theodore Roosevelt Island and the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge. Geography Little Island's coordinates are 38.891°N, 77.059°W. Its area is . Little Island is the sixth largest island in the District of Columbia. It is uninhabited, undeveloped, and entirely wooded. It is separated from Theodore Roosevelt Island by a small channel. The only access to it is by boat. It is not part of Theodore Roosevelt Island Park, although it is managed together with Theodore Roosevelt Island. The island is in the shape of a rounded triangle. Rosslyn ( ) is a heavily urbanized unincorporated area in northeastern Arlington County, Virginia, United States. It is in Northern Virginia, north of Arlington National Cemetery and directly across the Potomac River from Georgetown and Foggy Bottom in Washington, D.C. Rosslyn encompasses the Arlington neighborhoods of North Rosslyn and Radnor/Ft. Myer Heights, and is located east of Court House, another urbanized Arlington neighborhood. Characterized as one of several "urban villages" by the county, the numerous skyscrapers in the dense business section of Rosslyn make its appearance in some ways more urban than nearby Washington. The Theodore Roosevelt Bridge (also known as the Teddy Roosevelt Bridge, Roosevelt Bridge, or T.R. Bridge) is a bridge crossing the Potomac River which connects Washington, D.C., with the Commonwealth of Virginia. The bridge crosses over Theodore Roosevelt Island, and carries Interstate 66/ U.S. Route 50. The center lane in the bridge is reversible; the middle barrier is moved with a barrier transfer machine. Theodore Roosevelt Island
Theodore Roosevelt Island is an island and national memorial located in the Potomac River in Washington, D.C. During the Civil War, it was used as a training camp for the United States Colored Troops. The island was given to the federal government by the Theodore Roosevelt Association in memory of the 26th president, Theodore Roosevelt. Until then, the island had been known as My Lord's Island, Barbadoes Island, Mason's Island, Analostan Island, and Anacostine Island. The island is maintained by the National Park Service, as part of the nearby George Washington Memorial Parkway. The land is generally maintained as a natural park, with various trails and a memorial plaza featuring a statue of Roosevelt. George Washington Memorial Parkway
The George Washington Memorial Parkway, colloquially the G.W.
