Little Heroes (band)
Little Heroes were an Australian band formed in 1980, by founding mainstay Roger Hart (aka Roger Wells or Roger Hart-Wells, ex-Secret Police) on lead vocals and guitar. They released three studio albums, '' Little Heroes'' (August 1981), '' Play by Numbers'' (August 1982) and '' Watch the World'' (September 1983). Their highest charting hit, " One Perfect Day", which was released in 1982, reached No. 12 on the Kent Music Report Singles Chart. Their other charting singles are " Young Hearts" (1982), "Watch the World" and " Bon Voyage" (both 1983). They disbanded in June 1984. History In 1980, Little Heroes were formed in Melbourne from the remnants of pub rockers, Secret Police. Secret Police had formed in 1978, with Roger Hart (aka Roger Wells or Roger Hart-Wells, ex-The Cruisers) as singer-songwriter and guitarist, Bruce Pumpa on drums, and Neil Walker on bass guitar. Background and release Little Heroes were formed with the remnants of a band called The Secret Police, following some personnel changes in 1979. In 1980, Little Heroes competed in the Victorian State heat of the 1980 Battle of the Sounds, finishing second, progressing to the national final which they ultimately won, winning $5000 in prize money. Little Heroes is a 1999 American family comedy television film directed by Henri Charr and starring Brad Sergi and Thomas Garner as two bumbling kidnappers tasked with abducting the 8-year-old son ( Camryn Walling) of a tobacco company employee who is about to testify against his employers in court. Little Heroes Foundation
The Little Heroes Foundation, previously the McGuinness McDermott Foundation, was launched in May 1996 in memory of five-year-old Nicholas Berry, and seven-year-old Nathan Maclean who died of cancer. The Foundation raises funds to improve oncology treatment for South Australian children. The Foundation was established by former Adelaide Football Club players Tony McGuinness and Chris McDermott. Projects Oncology treatment for children in South Australia is chiefly undertaken at the Women's and Children's Hospital, North Adelaide. The majority of the Foundation's activities aim to support the hospital in its treatment of cancer.
