Little England (film)
''Little England'' ( el, Μικρά Αγγλία, italic=yes, translit=Mikra Anglia) is a 2013 Greek period drama–romance film directed by Pantelis Voulgaris. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Ioanna Karystiani, Voulgaris' wife, and stars Pinelopi Tsilika, Sofia Kokkali, Aneza Papadopoulou and Andreas Konstantinou. The plot revolves around two sisters, Orsa and Moscha from the island of Andros, dubbed ''Little England'' because of its affluence, who are both in love with Spyros; it starts in the interwar period and ends in the 1950s. The film achieved commercial success in Greece, as it was the second-highest-grossing film of 2013 and the first amongst the Greek films. Pantelis Voulgaris
Pantelis Voulgaris ( el, Παντελής Βούλγαρης; born 23 October 1940) is a Greek film director and screenwriter. His first feature film ''To proxenio tis Annas'' in 1972 won the first prize in Thessaloniki International Film Festival. His 1989 film ''The Striker with Number 9'' was entered into the 39th Berlin International Film Festival. Two years later, his film ''Quiet Days in August'' was entered into the 41st Berlin International Film Festival. In 2005 his film ''Brides (2004 film), Brides'' was entered into the 27th Moscow International Film Festival. The International Press Academy (IPA) is an American association of professional entertainment journalists, representing both domestic and foreign markets in print, television, radio, cable and new media outlets. Its members have annually been giving what are now known as the Satellite Awards since January 1997. The Hellenic Film Academy (HFA) ( el, Ελληνική Ακαδημία Κινηματογράφου) is an initiative of a group of Greek filmmakers. HFA presents the annual Hellenic Film Academy Awards ceremony, awarding the best films of Greek cinema of the last year. The Hellenic Film Academy was founded in November 2009 by a group of active film professionals of Greek cinema, involved in the ''Filmmakers Of Greece'' movement demanding a new Greek film law. Through a series of events that shook the Greek film world, the Hellenic Film Academy Awards replaced the defamed Greek State Film Awards, held by the Greek Ministry of Culture, that since ceased to exist. This is a list of submissions to the 87th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of a number of countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film every year since the award was created in 1956. It is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length film produced outside the United States with primarily non-English dialogue. The Foreign Language Film Award Committee oversees the process, reviewing all films submitted. For the 87th Academy Awards, held on 22 February 2015, a submitted motion picture must be released theatrically in its respective country between 1 October 2013 and 30 September 2014. Submission of a film does not automatically qualify it for the competition; AMPAS has the final word on eligibility, and has disqualified submissions in the past.
