''Little Crumb'' ( nl, Kruimeltje) is a 1999 Dutch film directed by Maria Peters, based on the novel by Chris van Abkoude. It was the most popular Dutch film of the year and in the top 20 most popular Dutch films of all time. It was the Netherlands' submission to the 73rd Academy Awards for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, but was not accepted as a nominee. Yannick Van De Velde
Yannick van de Velde (born 15 August 1989) is a Dutch actor who is best known for his role in the film ''In Orange''. He is the son of Jean van de Velde, a film director. Career In 2003, Van de Velde was a candidate for the role in the film ''Erik of het klein insectenboek''. Instead of getting the role as a butterfly he chose to act as Remco van Leeuwen in the film ''In Orange''. For which he won a 2005 Young Artist Award in the category Best Performance in an International Feature Film. The 18th annual Ale Kino! International Young Audience Film Festival was held from 15 to 20 May 2000. A number of 54 movies took part. This is a list of submissions to the 73rd Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is handed out annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The Foreign Language Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. For the 73rd Academy Awards, which were held on March 25, 2001, the Academy invited 75 countries to submit films for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Jan Decleir (born as ''Jan Amanda Gustaaf Decleir'' on 14 February 1946) is a prolific Belgian movie and stage actor born in Niel, Antwerp. Career He had his first big role in Fons Rademakers's ''Mira'' (1971). Since then, he has appeared in countless Flemish and Dutch films and TV productions. In the world of theater he gained his fame by acting at the International New Scene for the play Mistero Buffo by Dario Fo. To the larger audiences of television he became known through his role of ''Sil de strandjutter'' in 1976 in the equally named TV series. He starred in Academy Award winning movies including '' Karakter'' by Mike van Diem and ''Antonia'' and the Oscar-nominated social drama ''Daens''. Joop Doderer
Johan Heinrich (Joop) Doderer (28 August 1921 – 22 September 2005) was a Dutch actor, well known for his role as the tramp Swiebertje in the eponymous television series. The series ran for 17 seasons between 1955 and 1975, and was broadcast by the NCRV. Beside the role as ''Swiebertje'', Doderer played in dozens of radio and television programs, he played the role of Alfred Doolittle in ''My Fair Lady'', acted in Dutch and English movies, and appeared on stage in comedies, musicals, cabaret and dramas. Biography Doderer was born in Velsen, but brought up in Amsterdam. After finishing the '' Hogereburgerschool'', he persuaded his parents to let him take acting lessons. In 1939, aged 18, the Amsterdam acting school rejected him for 'lack of talent'.
