Litiana Lawedrau
Litiana Lawedrau (born 9 October 1992) is a Fijian rugby union player. Lawedrau made her Fijiana XV's debut against Papua New Guinea at the 2016 Oceania Championship on the 5th of November in Suva, Fiji. She scored the first try in the 19th minute of the first half. She later played in the repechage match against Hong Kong to qualify for the 2017 Rugby World Cup. In 2022, Lawedrau was named in the Fijiana Drua squad for Super W. She made the starting line-up for the Drua's debut in the competition, they played against the Melbourne Rebels The Melbourne Rebels is an Australian professional rugby union team based in Melbourne. They made their debut in SANZAR's Super Rugby tournament in 2011. They were the first privately owned professional rugby union team in Australia, until 2017 .... Fijiana Drua are a Fijian rugby union team based in Australia. Rugby Australia announced in February 2022 that they had joined the Super W competition. History The Fijiana Drua would is the first Fijian team to join the Super W competition with support from the Australian Government’s PacificAus Sports program. The Fiji Rugby Union announced that Rooster Chicken were the official sponsors of the Fijiana Drua for the current Super W season. The Papua New Guinea women's national rugby union team played their first international against Fiji in 2016. They compete annually in the Oceania Rugby Women's Championship, and have not qualified for the Rugby World Cup as yet. 2016 Oceania Rugby Women's Championship
The 2016 Oceania Rugby Women's Championship was the inaugural Oceania Championship for women's rugby in the region. It was held in Suva on November 5. It was part of the 2017 Rugby World Cup qualifying process. Teams Three teams initially nominated for the tournament were Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Samoa. With their long history of World Cup participation, Samoa seemed to be favourites to become the region's entry. 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup
The 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup was the eighth edition of the Women's Rugby World Cup and was held in Ireland in August 2017. New Zealand became the 2017 champions by beating England 41–32 in the final on 26 August. Matches were held in Dublin and Belfast. The pool stages were held at University College Dublin with the semi finals and finals held at Queen's University and Kingspan Stadium in Belfast.
