Literatura Mondo
''Literatura Mondo'' (''Literary World'') was a literary Esperanto periodical and publishing house in Budapest, Hungary between 1922 and 1949. It became the focal point of the so-called Budapest School of Esperanto literature. It was founded by Tivadar Soros, father of the Hungarian-born American investor, billionaire and philanthropist George Soros. Journal The journal ''Literatura Mondo'' first appeared in Budapest in 1922. Publication ceased in 1927 but was resumed in January 1931. After World War II, ''Literatura Mondo'' appeared again and was published for a further three years, from 1947 until 1949. In 1950, ''Literatura Mondo'' informed its subscribers that "due to financial obstacles, the publication of the magazine is no longer possible. Julio Baghy
Julio Baghy (13 January 1891, Szeged – 18 March 1967, Budapest; in Hungarian Baghy Gyula) was a Hungarian actor and one of the leading authors of the Esperanto movement. He is the author of several famous novels but it is particularly in the field of poetry that he proved his mastery of Esperanto. Early life Baghy was born into a theatrical family — his father was an actor, and his mother a stage prompter. He began learning Esperanto in 1911. He started work as an actor and theatre manager, but the First World War intervened and took him out of his home country for six years. He was captured and made a prisoner of war in Siberia. It was during this time that he began to work for the Esperanto movement, writing poetry and teaching the language to his fellow inmates. Esperanto periodicals have been an important element of the Esperanto movement since its beginning because it was one of the only practical ways the language could be used between conferences. Hendrik Adamson
Hendrik Adamson ( – 7 March 1946) was an Estonian poet and teacher. He was born as a son of a tailor in Patsi farmstead in Metsakuru village, Kärstna Parish (now in Veisjärve village, Tarvastu Parish), Viljandi County. From 1911 he worked as a teacher at the Torma Võtikvere Ministry of education. From 1919 to 1927 he was the head of the primary school in Kärstna.
