Litan (film)
''Litan'' is a 1982 French horror film co-written, produced, edited, and directed by Jean-Pierre Mocky and Jean-Claude Romer. It stars Marie-José Nat, Jean-Pierre Mocky, Nino Ferrer, and Marisa Muxen. Plot A young couple passes through the village of Litan as the locals hold a Festival of the Dead. As the festival progresses, strange, and eerie events occur that reveals something sinister at work. Fearing for their lives, the couple decided to flee the village before they too become overtaken by the dark implications of the celebration and become shadows of their former selves. Jean-Pierre Mocky
Jean-Pierre Mocky (6 July 1929 – 8 August 2019), pseudonym of Jean-Paul Adam Mokiejewski, was a French film director, actor, screenwriter and producer. Life and career Mocky was born in Nice, France to Polish immigrant parents, Jeanne Zylinska and Adam Mokiejewski. His father was Jewish and his mother was Catholic. Mocky appeared as an actor in the 1955 film ''The Abandoned (1955 film), Gli Sbandati'' and in many other movies, including some of those he also directed (''Solo (1969 film), Solo'', ''L'albatros'', ''L'Ombre d'une chance'', ''Un Linceul n'a pas de poches''). His 1987 film ''The Miracle (1987 film), Le Miraculé'' was entered into the 37th Berlin International Film Festival.'' He began as an actor in the cinema and theater. The Sitges Film Festival ( ca, Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya, links=no) is an annual film festival held in Sitges, Spain, specialized in fantasy and horror films, of which it is considered one of the world's foremost international festivals. Avoriaz Fantastic Film Festival
The Avoriaz International Fantastic Film Festival (french: Festival international du film fantastique d'Avoriaz) was a film festival held in the French resort of Avoriaz between 1973 and 1993. It was the precursor to the current Gérardmer International Fantastic Film Festival. Unlike many such events, the Avoriaz festival did not have grassroots origins. Organized as a vehicle for the eponymous skiing resort, it intended to promote the genre and its host town to a mainstream audience, with a level of glamour typically associated with more accepted film genres. The ''New York Times'' called it "a great success, the high point of many junketing French journalists' winters" and the ''Financial Times'' wrote that its two decades of existence had turned Avoriaz into "a momentary movie mecca".
