Østerbro
Østerbro () (literally, "Eastern Bridge") is one of the 10 official districts of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located just north of the city centre, outside the old city gate Østerport which, after it was moved around 1700, used to be located close to present-day Østerport Station. From the beginning, Østerbro has been a wealthy district, and it remains one of the most affluent areas in Copenhagen. Geography Østerbro has an area of and a population of 68,769. Jens Ferdinand Willumsen
Jens Ferdinand Willumsen (7 September 1863 – 4 April 1958) was a Danish painter, sculptor, graphic artist, architect and photographer. He became associated with the movements of Symbolism and Expressionism. Biography J. F. Willumsen was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was the son of Hans Willumsen and Ane Kirstine. He was initially trained in art at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1881 to 1885 and in architecture at the Copenhagen Technical College from 1879 to 1882. He completed his education in 1885 with the artists P.S. Krøyer (1851-1909) and Laurits Tuxen (1853–1927). His works were exhibited in the Paris Salon, the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, the Société des Artistes Indépendants, the art gallery of Le Barc de Boutteville and at the Exposition Universelle (1900). Glacisgården is a listed, Jugendstil-style building located at Østbanegade 11 in the Østerbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. Asger Skovgaard Ostenfeld (13 October 1866 – 23 September 1931) was a Danish civil engineer who specialized in the theory of steel and reinforced concrete structures. Gefion And Gylfe
Gefion and Gylfe, situated at Østbanegade 1921, between Stavangergade and Fridtjof Nansens Plads, is a pair of Romantic Nationalism, National Romantic high-end apartment buildings attached to each other by an archway across Mandalsgade in the Østerbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The symmetrical building complex was originally located in the axis of the Langelinie Bridge, an Asger Ostenfeld-designed steel bridge spanning the railway tracks just north of Østerport station, now replaced by a footbridge, bicycle and footbridge. Aage Rafn
Aage Rafn (21 April 1890 - 7 May 1953) was a Danish architect and designer. He headed Kunsthåndværkerskolen in Copenhagen from 1924. Early life and education Rafn was born on 21 April 1890 in Copenhagen, the son off Carl Hjalmar Rafn (1848-1919) and Anna Elisabeth Albertine Kaper (1867-1942).His father served as headmaster of the Metropolitan School from 1902 to 1918. His paternal grandfather was the antiquarian and publisher, writer and publisher Carl Christian Rafn. Rafn matriculated from Metropolitanskolen in 1908. He enrolled at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1909 and graduated from Kunstakademiets Arkitektskole in 1919. He won the academy's great gold medal in 1921.
