Lista Air Station
Lista Air Station ( no, Lista flystasjon, ) was a military airbase situated on the Lista peninsula in Farsund, Norway. It features a concrete runway aligned 14/32, and a runway aligned 09/27. The facility was shared with Farsund Airport, Lista, which remains in operation. The airbase was built by Luftwaffe between 1941 and 1944, during the German occupation of Norway. Throughout the Second World War it was predominantly used for fighter aircraft and served as part of the Atlantic Wall. Most of the buildings at the station date from this period. It was taken over by the Royal Norwegian Air Force in 1946. It was at first closed and then reopened, originally serving a weapon-technical school and a shooting and bombing school. Royal Norwegian Air Force
The Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF) ( no, Luftforsvaret, , The Air Defence) is the air force of Norway. It was established as a separate arm of the Norwegian Armed Forces on 10 November 1944. The RNoAF's peacetime establishment is approximately 2,430 employees (officers, enlisted staff and civilians). 600 personnel also serve their draft period in the RNoAF. After mobilization, the RNoAF would consist of approximately 5,500 personnel. Lista Lighthouse
Lista Lighthouse ( no, Lista fyr) is a coastal lighthouse located at the western side of the Lista peninsula, a short distance northwest of the village of Vestbygd in the municipality of Farsund in Agder county, Norway. The lighthouse sits on a cape on the edge of the Listafjorden which marks the extreme southwestern edge of the mainland of Norway. The lighthouse had a foghorn that was used from 1877 until 1987. In 1937, the station began emitting a racon signal of the morse code letter "G". The tall unpainted granite tower was first lit in 1836, but it was rebuilt in 1853. The light sits at an elevation of and it emits a white flash of light every four seconds. The 1,026,000-candela light can be seen in all directions for up to . Würzburg Radar
The low-UHF band Würzburg radar was the primary ground-based tracking radar for the Wehrmacht's Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine (German Navy) during World War II. Initial development took place before the war and the apparatus entered service in 1940. Eventually, over 4,000 Würzburgs of various models were produced. It took its name from the city of Würzburg. There were two primary models of the system. The first Würzburg was a transportable model that could be folded for transit and then brought into operation quickly after emplacement and levelling. The A models began entering service in May 1940 and saw several updated versions over the next year to improve accuracy, notably the addition of conical scanning in the D model of 1941. Mandal Airfield ( no, Mandal flyplass) was a military air base situated at Vestnes in Lindesnes municipality, Norway. It featured a wooden runway measuring . Built by the German Luftwaffe in 1940 after Nazi Germany occupied Norway, it remained in use for the rest of the Second World War.
