Ricardo Ten Argilés
Ricardo Ten Argilés (born 11 August 1975) is a Spanish Paralympic swimmer and para-cyclist. Personal Ten was born on 11 August 1975 in Valencia. At the age of eight he touched high-voltage power lines; his injuries resulted in his arms and left leg being amputated. Swimming Ten is an S5 type swimmer. In 2007, Ten competed at the IDM German Open. Ten competed at the 2010 Adapted Swimming World Championship in the Netherlands, where he won a gold medal, a silver medal and a bronze medal. In advance of the competition, he attended a swimming camp with the national team that was part of the Paralympic High Performance Program (HARP Program). In 2010, he competed at the Tenerife International Open. He competed at the 2011 IPC European Swimming Championships in Berlin, Germany, finishing fifth in the 50 meters butterfly. Individual Pursuit
The individual pursuit is a track cycling event where two cyclists begin the race from a stationary position on opposite sides of the track. It is held at over for men and for women. The riders start at the same time and set off to complete the race distance in the fastest time. They ride on the pursuit line at the bottom of the track to find the fastest line, with each rider trying to catch the other who started on the other side. If the catch is achieved, the successful pursuer is the winner. However, they can continue the rest of the race distance to set the fastest time in a qualifying race or a record in a final. Qualification and race format The first round of the competition at major events is the qualifying round. This still involves two riders on the track at the same time but they are not directly competing against each other but attempting to set the fastest time to progress in the competition. Cycling At The 2020 Summer Paralympics – Men's Time Trial B
The men's time trial class B track cycling event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics took place on 28 August 2021 in the Izu Velodrome, Japan. This class is for the cyclist who is blind or has visual impairments, they will then ride with tandem bicycles together with a sighted cyclist (also known as the pilot). There will be 10 pairs from 9 different nations competing. Competition format The 10 pairs are placed into their own heats individually (1 heat including 1 pair) where they will then do a time trial basis where the fastest pair would win gold, 2nd fastest a silver, and 3rd fastest a bronze. Cycling At The 2020 Summer Paralympics – Men's Time Trial C1–3
The men's time trial class C1-3 track cycling event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics took place on 27 August 2021 at the Izu Velodrome, Japan. This combine class (C1-3) under classification C is for cyclists who have impairments that affect their legs, arms, and/or trunk but are still capable to use a standard bicycle. 22 cyclists from 17 nations competed in this event. Competition format The competition immediately begins with the finals, where the 23 cyclists will individually in their own heat, compete by doing a time trial basis where the fastest cyclist will win gold, the 2nd fastest a silver, and the 3rd fastest a bronze. The distance of this event is 1000m. Jaco-Albert van Gass (born 20 August 1986) is a South African-born British racing cyclist who competes in para-cycling track events. He won two gold medals and one bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. He is a three times world record holder in Track cycling. Deployment in Afghanistan Van Gass was born in South Africa. At the age of 20, he moved to the UK to join the British Armed Forces. In mid-2007, he finished his training and became a member of the Parachute Regiment.
