List Of Tallest Buildings In Yangon
This is a list of the tallest buildings in the city of Yangon. The list includes habitable buildings standing at or above but excludes other tall structures such as the Shwedagon Pagoda in the city proper, or buildings elsewhere in the Yangon Region, such as those in Thanlyin. Yangon has the vast majority of the tallest buildings in the country. Its tallest buildings are High-rise building, high rises, with the majority being condominiums. The city does not have a skyscraper—i.e. one at least tall as defined by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat and Emporis— and will not have one as long as the current zoning regulations, which cap the maximum height at above sea level, (75% of the Shwedagon Pagoda's sea level height) remain in place. The regulations came into effect after a proposal to build a tower in downtown Yangon was defeated by local conservationists in 2014. Yangon ( my, ရန်ကုန်; ; ), formerly spelled as Rangoon, is the capital of the Yangon Region and the largest city of Myanmar (also known as Burma). Mingala Taungnyunt Township ( my, မင်္ဂလာ‌တောင်ညွန့် မြို့နယ် ; also spelled Mingalar Taung Nyunt) is a township of Yangon, Myanmar. Located in the east-central part of the city, the township consists of 20 wards, and shares borders with Dagon Township in the west, Bahan township in the north, Botataung Township in the south, Kyauktada Township in the southwest, and the Pazundaung Creek and Dawbon Township in the east. Bahan Township
Bahan Township ( my, ဗဟန်း မြို့နယ်, ) is located in the north central part of Yangon. The township comprises 22 wards, and shares borders with Yankin Township and Mayangon Township in the north, Sanchaung Township and Kamayut Township in the west, Tamwe Township in the east, and Dagon Township and Mingala Taungnyunt Township in the south. Bahan is one of the most prosperous townships in Yangon. Shwetaunggya (formerly, Golden Valley), Sayarsan Road and Inya Myaing are three of Yangon's most exclusive neighborhoods. Kyauktada Township
Kyauktada Township ( my, ကျောက်တံတား မြို့နယ် ) is the center of downtown Yangon, Myanmar. The township consists of nine wards, and shares borders with Botataung Township in the east, Seikkan Township and Yangon River in the south, Pabedan Township in the west and Mingala Taungnyunt Township in the north. Sakura Tower is a 20-story modern office building in Kyauktada Township, Yangon, Myanmar.
