Bucharest

The REWE Group is a German diversified retail and tourism co-operative group based in Cologne, Germany. The name REWE comes from Revisionsverband der Westkauf-Genossenschaften", meaning "Western Buying Co-operatives Auditing Association". Coop () is one of Switzerland's largest retail and wholesale companies. It is structured in the form of a cooperative society with around 2.5 million members. As of 2019, Coop operates 2,478 shops and employs more than 90,000 people in Switzerland. Selgros is a cash and carry chain in Europe, owned by Transgourmet Holding, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coop (Switzerland). It started in 1989 as a joint venture between Rewe Group (50%) and Otto Group (50%). In March 2008, Rewe took over 100% of the company, and in October 2008 formed the Transgourmet Holding company with Coop. In 2011, Coop purchased the remaining interests of Transgourmet, which included Selgros. Profi is a chain of supermarkets and convenience stores with over 1.600 locations in Romania owned by Mid Europa Partners. History Belgium and Luxembourg Profi discount store network was founded in 1979 in Belgium by the Louis Delhaize Group. The supermarket chain consisted of 130 discount supermarkets in Belgium and Luxembourg. In 2001 to avoid the bankruptcy of chain, Louis Delhaize Group merged Profi with the Match supermarket network and began rebranding 62 supermarkets in Belgium and 14 in Luxembourg in Smatch supermarket, while the rest of the stores were closed.
