Narkanda
Narkanda is a town and a nagar panchayat in Kumarsain subdivision of Shimla district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is at an elevation of 2708 meters on the Hindustan-Tibet Road ( NH 5) in Himachal Pradesh, India within a fir (''abies pindrow'') forest. It is about 60 km away from Shimla and surrounded by the Himalayan Range. It is a skiing resort in winter. Kufri, India
Kufri is a resort hill station in the district of Shimla, India. It is located from the state capital Shimla on the National Highway No. 22. On the Kufri Avenue, the main thoroughfare, boutiques and restaurants mix with Indian-style hotels and souvenir shops are to look for during a visit. The name Kufri is derived from the word ''kufr'' meaning "lake" in the local language. List Of Skiing Destinations In India
Skiing in India is an activity that mostly takes place in the northern states of India, where the Himalayas are situated. Skiing is administered by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation in India. The Himalayas provide an excellent skiing experience owing to their great height which makes for long descents. Heliskiing is also gaining popularity in places like Manali and Gulmarg. However skiing in India suffers from lack of infrastructure. There are also security concerns in Gulmarg which is from the Line of Control, however since 2002, it has been peaceful, which has led to an increase in skiing activity in the region. Mestia ( ka, მესტია ) is a highland townlet ('' daba'') in northwest Georgia, at an elevation of in the Caucasus Mountains. Gudauri ( ka, გუდაური) is a ski resort located on the south-facing plateau of The Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia. The resort is situated in the Stepantsminda District, along the Georgian Military Highway near the Jvari Pass, at an elevation of 2,200 meters (7,200 ft.) above sea level. Bakuriani ( ka, ბაკურიანი) is a daba and a ski resort in the Borjomi district of Georgia. It is located on the northern slope of the Trialeti Range, at an elevation of 1,700 meters (5,576 feet) above sea level. Geography The region around Bakuriani is covered by coniferous forests (mainly made up of spruce). The resort lies from Borjomi and is located within the so-called Bakuriani Depression/caldera.
