Mascouche () is an off-island suburb of Montreal, in southern Quebec, Canada. The city is located on the Mascouche River within the Les Moulins Regional County Municipality and has a population of 51,183, ranking 20th among Quebec municipalities. Saint-Hilarion is a parish municipality in Charlevoix Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale of the province of Quebec, in Canada. L'Isle-aux-Coudres is a municipality in Quebec, Canada, in the Charlevoix Regional County Municipality in the Charlevoix area of the Capitale-Nationale region. It is located on and contiguous with Coudres Island (''Île aux Coudres''), located in the St. Lawrence River about south from the mainland. The island was named by Jacques Cartier during his second expedition in 1535 for the many nut-bearing trees on the island. "Coudriers" is the archaic French word for Hazel tree. Whereas the modern French spelling for "island" is ''île'', the municipality uses the old French spelling of ''Isle''. Clermont is a ''ville'' in the Canadian province of Quebec, and the seat of government for the Charlevoix-Est Regional County Municipality. It is located on the southern banks of the Malbaie River. History Around 1800, the first settlers moved into the area, living primarily of agriculture. Followed by a saw and flour mill, tradeshops, and stores, a settlement grew that was then known as Chute Nairne. At the close of the century, the place attracted attention for its hydro-electric potential, and by 1900, a dam was built across the Malbaie River, supplying electricity to La Malbaie and surrounding area. In 1909, Rodolphe Forget founded the East Canada Power and Pulp Company, and wanting to profit from the phenomenal growth in the pulp and paper market, he built Chute Nairne's first paper mill in 1911. Saint-Siméon is a municipality in the Charlevoix-Est Regional County Municipality of Quebec, Canada. Founded in 1869, it was named after Saint Simeon of Jerusalem. Its population centres include Saint-Siméon, Baie-des-Rochers, Port-au-Persil, and Port-aux-Quilles, all located along Route 138. History The municipality was formed as a parish municipality in 1869 when it was separated from Saint-Fidèle-de-Mont-Murray (now part of La Malbaie). Its post office opened in 1882. La Malbaie
La Malbaie is a municipality in the Charlevoix-Est Regional County Municipality in the Province of Quebec, Canada, situated on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River at the mouth of the Malbaie River. It was formerly known as Murray Bay. La Malbaie is the seat of the judicial district of Charlevoix. Although the main business district is located at the mouth of the Malbaie River, the town itself covers a vast area that extends inland along both sides of the Malbaie River and north and south along the St. Lawrence River. The village of Pointe-au-Pic amalgamated with La Malbaie in 1995, and the villages of Rivière-Malbaie, Saint-Agnès, Cap-à-l'Aigle, and Saint-Fidèle were added in 1999. Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury is a united township municipality (Quebec), united township municipality in the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of Quebec, located in the regional county municipality of La Jacques-Cartier Regional County Municipality, La Jacques-Cartier north of Quebec City.
