London, Ontario
London (pronounced ) is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada, along the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor. The city had a population of 422,324 according to the 2021 Canadian census. London is at the confluence of the Thames River, approximately from both Toronto and Detroit; and about from Buffalo, New York. The city of London is politically separate from Middlesex County, though it remains the county seat. London and the Thames were named in 1793 by John Graves Simcoe, who proposed the site for the capital city of Upper Canada. The first European settlement was between 1801 and 1804 by Peter Hagerman. The village was founded in 1826 and incorporated in 1855. Tom Benner
Thomas Earl Benner (January 5, 1950September 21, 2022) was a Canadian sculptor of large sculptures, a painter and an installation artist who explored such themes as the environment, history and nature. His work was widely exhibited in Canada and the United States in public galleries and even in unconventional places, such as Union Station (Toronto), Union Station in Toronto. He is associated with a movement in Canadian art known as London Regionalism, which took place in the city of London, Ontario, where he was born and lived. Ottawa Senators
The Ottawa Senators (french: Sénateurs d'Ottawa), officially the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and colloquially known as the Sens, are a professional ice hockey team based in Ottawa. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference, and play their home games at the 18,652-seat Canadian Tire Centre, which opened in 1996 as the Palladium. Joshua Brown (born January 21, 1994) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected in the sixth round, 152nd overall, by the Florida Panthers in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to joining the Coyotes, Brown played for the Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins and the Panthers. Eve Brodlique Summers (, Brodlique; pen names, Willice Wharton, Peg Woffington, Evelyn; 1867 – 10 October 1949) was a British-born Canadian/American author and journalist. One of the best-known newspaper women on the Continent, she filled every position from reporter to editor. CFIQ (640 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Richmond Hill, Ontario, and serving Greater Toronto. The station airs a talk format and is known as ''640 Toronto''. It is owned by Corus Entertainment with radio studios and offices in the Corus Quay Building at 25 Dockside Drive in Toronto. CFIQ is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum for Canadian AM stations. To protect other stations on 640 AM, it must use a directional antenna. Although it is licensed to a suburban community north of the city, its transmitter is about 60 kilometers (38 miles) south of Toronto. William Brady, CM (born 1932) is a Canadian print and radio journalist, manager and executive who has been involved with various local and national organizations. Early life Brady was born in Windsor, Ontario and located to London in the 1950s to work in radio broadcasting. He is regarded as a pioneer of the telephone call-in show in Canada. Career Brady's daily radio program was on the air in the Southwestern Ontario region for more than 20 years. He also hosted a game show called ''Act Fast'' on the local television station CFPL-TV. Beyond his capacity as a radio personality for CFPL radio in London, Brady became more involved in the management of the station, eventually, in 1983 becoming the general manager. Trevor Blumas (born October 16, 1984) is a Canadian television and film actor and singer-songwriter. Early life and career Blumas was born in London, Ontario, Canada. Trevor Blumas went to school at the Lester B. Pearson School for the Arts, studying drama, music, dance, and art. Blumas was part of the Original Kids Theatre Company in Ontario alongside Rachel McAdams, and Amber Marshall. The Birthday Massacre (abbreviated TBM) is a Canadian rock band , formed in 1999 in London, Ontario, and currently based in Toronto, Ontario. The current lineup consists of lead vocalist Sara 'Chibi' Taylor, rhythm guitarist Michael Rainbow, lead guitarist Michael Falcore, keyboardist Owen Mackinder, drummer Philip Elliott, and bassist Brett Carruthers. When the band formed in 1999, they were known as 'Imagica'. This name was inspired by the 1991 fantasy novel ''Imajica'' by Clive Barker. In 2002, they changed the name to The Birthday Massacre after one of their earlier songs in order to avoid confusion with another group.
