This is a list of the songs that reached number one in Mexico in 1992, according to the Notitas Musicales magazine with data provided by Radio Mil(which also provided charts for Billboard's "Hits of the World" between 1969 and 1981). Notitas Musicales was a bi-weekly magazine that published two record charts: *"Canciones que México canta" ("Songs that Mexico sings"), which listed the Top 10 most popular Spanish-language songs in Mexico, and *"Hit Parade", which was a Top 10 of the most popular songs in Mexico that were in languages other than Spanish. For reasons unknown, the magazine stopped publishing the "Hit Parade" chart in 1988 and wouldn't feature it again until 1993. XEOY-AM
XEOY-AM is an AM radio station in Mexico City. It is a Class A clear-channel station broadcasting on 1000 kHz. XEOY carries newscasts and contemporary music in English from the 1980s to the present day. KNWN in Seattle, Washington, WMVP in Chicago, Illinois and XEOY-AM share Class A status of 1000 AM. History XEOY was founded on February 10, 1941 by Ignacio Díaz Raygosa and Jose Iturbe Umantour; Raygosa was the grandson of former Mexican president Porfirio Díaz, while Umantour's grandfather was José Yves Limantour, the finance secretary for most of the Porfiriato. The first broadcast of XEOY-AM was the Ninth Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven. In 1942 it was sold to Guillermo Salas Peyró, who gave the station its long-running name of "Radio Mil" (Radio Thousand), after its position on the dial. "No Podrás" (English: "You Can't") is a song written and composed by Alejandro Zepeda and Peter Skrabak, originally recorded by Mexican recording artist Cristian Castro. Lyrically, the song describes the end of a relationship between two lovers where the protagonist tells the lover that she will not forget how much he loved her. The song was released by Fonovisa Records as the lead single from Castro's debut studio album ''Agua Nueva'' (1992). It peaked at number three on the US ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Songs chart. It was well received by music critics, despite negative reception of its parent album. In 1993, Dominican merengue musician Fernando Villalona covered the song on his album ''El Niño Mimado''. "América América" is a song written by José Luis Armenteros and Pablo Herrero and performed by Spanish performer Nino Bravo. It was released as a single for his fifth studio album ''y volumen 5'' (1973). The song reached number one on the Spanish Singles Chart in 1973. In 2013, the song was inducted into the Latin Grammy Hall of Fame. Magneto (band)
Magneto was a popular Mexican boy band of the 1980s and 1990s. The band formed on February 14, 1983. In 1986, Magneto was featured in "Siempre en Domingo," a Mexican entertainment show viewed across Latin America and parts of Europe. Mexican teen pop group Magneto emerged in 1983. Their first record, Dejalo Que Gire came in 1984, followed by Super 6 Magneto. The Latin pop outfit suffered several lineup changes before achieving their first gold record in 1986. Mostly playing dance-pop songs, the five-member ensemble started touring Central America after climbing charts with "Todo Esta Muy Bien," and "Soy Un Soñador." However, their breakthrough came after issuing a Spanish-language version of Desireless' "Voyage, voyage," a French pop hit from the '80s. María Guadalupe Araujo Yong (born December 10, 1955), better known as Ana Gabriel, is a Mexican singer and songwriter from Guamuchil, Sinaloa, Mexico. She first sang on the stage at age six, singing "Regalo A Dios" by José Alfredo Jiménez. She moved to Tijuana, Baja California and studied accounting. At age 21, in 1977, she recorded her first song, titled "Compréndeme". During her long career, she has hits in three different genres of music: Latin pop and Mariachi. Christian Sáinz Valdés Castro (born 8 December 1974), known professionally as Cristian Castro or Cristian, is a Mexican pop singer. Alejandro Sánchez Pizarro, better known as Alejandro Sanz (; born 18 December 1968), is a Spanish musician, singer and composer. Sanz has won 22 Latin Grammy Awards and four Grammy Awards. ''Viviendo Deprisa'' (''"Living in a Hurry"'') is the second studio album (first with WEA Latina) recorded by Spanish singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz (although he previously had recorded '' Los Chulos Son Pa' Cuidarlos'' under the name ''Alejandro Magno'' in 1989).
