Kyrgyz State Historical Museum
The Kyrgyz State History Museum (russian: Кыргызский государственный исторический музей; ky, Кыргыз Мамлекеттик Тарых музейи) is a museum located in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The museum contains literally thousands of exhibits about the cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people, whose sculptures and objects date from antiquity to the end of the 20th century. It is one of the most important museums in Central Asia. History During the 1920s and 1930s, one of the objectives was to complete certain ethnographic and archaeological collections, therefore, the construction of a museum to store different types of cultural and historical artifacts of Kyrgyzstan was proposed. The museum was founded in December 9, 1925 as the first scientific institution in Kyrgyzstan. Manas Ordo (Kyrgyz and Russian: Манас Ордо, ) is a modern historical park (with a museum) built around Manas's Kümböz ( ky, Манастын күмбөзү, ; russian: Кумбез Манаса), a Karakhanid-era mausoleum most likely built around 1334 thought to be the final resting place of the Kyrgyz epic hero Manas. Among the Kyrgyz, the site has status as a ''mazar''. The mausoleum looks similar to other monuments from the 14th century, with kufic script around the outside edge of the monument. The National Historical and Archaeological Museum Complex Sulayman (russian: Национальный Историко-археологический музейный комплекс «Сулайман-Тоо») is a museum in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. It was established in 1949 as ''Osh Regional Museum''. The present museum building was completed during the Soviet era in 1978 to celebrate the 3,000th anniversary of the city of Osh.
